This did a pretty good job with a complex score.

Here’s the actual OST version

-At the beginning, Michael Giacchino mixes the old ST theme with his them while adding a darker tone to it as well. I also like the chorus that sings the old school theme. Giacchino does a good job merging the two themes together.

-There is a bit of “The Planets (Holst)” thrown in there at the 2:30 mark when it changes to a different piece of music.

-The Vulcan theme has a very Asian feel here, and Giacchino plays around with his Vulcan theme
