Train on Bridge Nearly kills two women

Wreck em, damn near killed them
Do you realize how stupid that was walking on that bridge? Train bridges are extremely dangerous and ARE some of the oldest bridges in US and Canada. We had one guy die on a train bridge connecting Indiana and Louisville because a panel broke away and he fell to his death.
Didn't they watch Stand By Me?
The only thing that saved their lives was laying under the train. The train engineer thought he killed them! They turned up alive, but shaken
From Chicago CBS Local.com, ((The women ran to a nearby vehicle and fled, but were later found by police.  ))
To show you how dangerous this bridge is, here is the Google maps location. That's a lot of bridge to cover.

By the way, this is the Indiana Railroad. I've only seen one of their engines in Louisville once. I also believe that CSX also owns a portion of the company as well.
People have no idea that technically walking on train tracks is trespassing, because it is private property And. you can get arrested like these two women did afterwards. (Except where the city owns the tracks)

Kaavya Viswanathan: What has happened lately?

Kaavya Viswanathan: What has happened lately?
I was reading through MC's Archives and he had a good post about Kaavya Viswanathan way back in 2006. Basically, at a young age, Miss Viswanathan wrote a book called How Opal Got Kissed Got Wild and Got a Life. She got an advance and a deal for two books, plus a major movie deal with Dreamworks. People started to discover that her book had striking similarities with other writer's books. And, the jig was up and all copies of the book were pulled and destroyed and the movie deal was dropped. There was also discussion about Book-packing companies.
After reading his post, I decided to see what she was up to today. I was more than a little shocked. Back in June 2011, both her parents were killed in a plane crash.
From NJ.com, (( A leading New Jersey neurosurgeon and his wife, also a doctor, were killed today when their single-engine plane crashed into an Ohio cornfield and burst into flames shortly after takeoff, authorities said. ))
That's extremely sad to lose both her parents. The story also says she graduated from Georgetown University Law around the same time and her parents were visiting her before the crash. So, I feel bad for her and, yes I was one of the people that attacked her back in the day. However, I am 100% certain she learned from her mistake and clearly moved on. I'm one of the people furious over her book incident, due to the fact I tried numerous times to write a damn novel. Some of us didn't have other gifts to fall back on like her, and that really pissed me off. At the time, being a fictional writer was all I wanted to be, and yet here she was making a mockery of the profession I wanted to be in. I wish I could do the job or career I've always wanted. That didn't happen.
When mentioning her parents accident, I don't think people should attack the people mentioning that she was the one that wrote that book. (like the people in the Huff Post comment section) It is still a part of the news and should be mentioned.

Random Things

Random Things
~Still getting bit up by insects: It seems like the insects outside are really biting me like crazy. Some of the bites still have gone down and they happened last week. Okay, I spend a lot of time outside, but damn these things are biting the shit out of me!
~Should VG reviewers disclose how many hours they've played a game they're reviewing?: Hmm, Probably in the case of RPG games. To shut up the fanboys that complain about the ratings of in the fave franchises, I think posting the amount of hours will put the review and the rating in the right mind frame for the reader/viewer. It should also be noted we're talking about games with 40-60 hours of gameplay. There's no way a reviewer can complete that much game and write their review, while doing other duties. GTA 5 comes to mind. Or should the review merely get the feel of the game overall?
~John Oliver has really kicked major ass with his new TV show. He was good on Community and The Daily Show. Now, he's pissed off the Thailand ruling party. When you have a ruling body hating you, you're doing something right.
~Guardians of the Galaxy : I will check this movie out probably either Friday or Saturday. And, I will have review up either on Sunday or Monday. I just have to avoid the Marvel fanboys and annoying moviegoers. I guess I will try for an early showing on Saturday. Right now, the movie is at 93% on RT. That's a good thing, but that doesn't translate to Box Office gold. TF4 is at 17%, and that is one of the biggest money makers this year.

The Conqueror: John Wayne, really?

The Conqueror: John Wayne, really?
Man, I read about this movie in the book My Year Of Flops. The writer really ripped into movie, and pretty much everyone considers this to be Wayne's worst movie. I also heard the We Hate Movies podcast review of this movie.
-The Asian “makeup” on Wayne's face is very very racist. Even Wayne distanced himself from the movie.
No-no-no!
-White people paying Asians. Make it stop.
-91 people had cancer from making this film. This always made me very uneasy. Many people died from the cancer. From IMDB, ((It was filmed near a nuclear test site, and the set was contaminated by nuclear fallout. Photographs exist of John Wayne holding a Geiger counter. After location shooting, contaminated soil was transported back to Hollywood in order to match interior shooting done there. ))
Literally, 46 people that worked on the movie died from cancer ! That is totally horrible. This movie killed John Wayne and Susan Hayward. People went to work everyday not realizing that they were being exposed to dangerous levels of radioactive dirt. Damn. The US government first claimed the area was “safe”.  The cancer does put a horrible feeling over this movie when watching it.
-Howard Hughes  sort of blamed himself for the radioactive dirt being shipped, so he blocked his movie from being seen for many years.
-Even John Wayne fans really hate this movie.
Despite all the bad history behind this movie, I want to see it now.

Denny's makes fun of Dash Con

Denny's makes fun of Dash Con

I can't believe Denny's posted this picture on their Twitter page. Story behind this photo and post is that there was a Tumblr convention that supposedly went horribly wrong. One of the things people all over the Internet talked about was the ball pit. There were stories of the ball pit getting pissed in at a certain point. (WTF)
Plus, one of the bonuses for people was spending more time in the ball pit...wow. I hated ball pits as child, so spending any time in that thing is a horrible thought. And, I am not going to get into the whole $17,000 emergency fundraiser.
Dash Con became such a story that it morphed into a meme. And, you know you're doing something wrong when Denny's is making fun of your event. Denny's, the place you go at night because you're drunk or high. Denny's always seemed like your out of touch grandparents. And, I am not knocking Denny's because I took a few dates to Denny's.  And, those dates were cool with going to Denny's, so they've helped me out a few times.  However, it is like your grandmother talking about the Harlem Shake.
Being a blogger for a long time, I've never understood the culture of Tumblr. It feels like Twitter shat out a baby and it was in the form of Tumblr and the baby grew up bitter about the whole world in 10 minute intervals.   I guess I am just an old fashion blogger, because I'm just confused by Tumblr.
Reblog!!!

I can't believe I can say, “Back in my day, we actually had bloggers.” Damn I feel old in Internet years.

Repo counter-attack goes wrong...but right?

Repo counter-attack goes wrong...but right?
I saw this over at Tommy's site and I could believe how crazy this ended up. Somehow, this crazy woman decided to destroy the automotive vehicle that she stopped making payments on. She doesn't realize she makes ALL black people look bad with her behavior. If I was standing there, I'd be embarrassed.
Then it gets worst when FOX interviews her. Talk about ignorant. From CBS46, (("I really just wanted to show my a-- anyway-get it off my chest," Smith said. "When I saw him, I just really went ludicrous for the h--- of it, because I knew then that I didn't want the car." ))
Well you certainly did that and more. I look at these videos and shake my head. We are doing so much harm to ourselves in the black community. We promote ignorance and violence over education and logic. I've seen it first hand with other black people making fun of me when I was younger because I talked proper and didn't use slang.  (Recently, I've been told I have no swagger. So?)
Every time she opens her mouth, nothing intelligent comes out.
Here is a radio interview. Holy Crap.

Squatters going to Squat

Squatters going to Squat
From polygon.com, ((The brothers behind two video game Kickstarters, one backed and one not, appear to be the duo who have threatened to sue a homeowner ))
When I saw this story, I was like please don't let this be another kickstarter scam project. I think there has been some good to come out these kickstarter projects and then there are people like these asshats not providing the product they promised.
Besides not releasing the game on time, they have the gall to threaten to sue the homeowner even though they are the ones not paying the rent or utilities. It's like going to a restaurant eating the food and refusing to pay the bill. Then, you decide to stay in the restaurant and threaten to sue them if the owners if they kick you out and refuse to keep feeding you. And, the law actually had your back in the situation.

They call their crowd-funded game Confederate Express. Check out their kickstarter page. It does have a Lucas 90s feel to it. I can see why people funded the game, but come devs.   So they delayed this game and kickstarted another game asking for money

Random Stuff

Random Stuff
~True Blood Last Season: I know that this show gets a lot of flack for its changing premises each season. However, this last season is really getting good. They've certainly killed off a lot of the main characters this season. And, Pam and Eric are still some of the best characters in series. You have to love their anti-hero status. There are some twists and turns. Here's hoping it ends well. How does the Japanese mob fit into the story?
~Star Wars plot revealed?: It appears a short bit of the story was leaked to various sites. However, many people are saying that it might be a fake leak. They've been doing this for years. I am kind of interested in people going around the galaxy searching for Luke. Now, the “hand” flying through space didn't make sense until I realized they were talking about Luke's robotic hand. It is the only way it could survive reentry onto a planet.
~North Korea asked China to remove the “offensive” viral video of Kim Jong-un dancing and being made a fool. China just shrugged and said, “Nope”. China has been known to clamp down on things, but not to the extent as NK. I feel this probably has something to do with Un killing his uncle, who had strong ties with China. China telling them “no” is probably a clear message too Kim. This would all be funny if it weren't for Un being a very dangerous person.
~Kanye West and his baby: Am I supposed to care that North West took his first steps? Just because the two parents are famous, one being legit and other being a reality star, doesn't mean I should give two shits about some baby taking their first steps. Since I am not a parent nor do I care to be, I really have little desire to hear about normal people's children doing things. So, what makes your child something I need to hear about? Maybe, it is just parenthood overall that I really don't care about because I am not a parent and married either.
I always have this video in my mind when I think about my single life via Louis CK.

New (old) X-Wing Fighter

Okay, JJ Abrams, that was a nice reveal.

Yep, JJ just gave us a huge reveal of the X-Wing fighter. It looks a like a modified version of the ones from Revenge of the Sith. I am so giddy like my younger self when I got a X-Wing model. I love that they switched to blue, and the fighter looks to have a bit of wear.
As long as the movie is a nice mixture of Episodes IV V and III, I'll be all right with the movie.  JJ seems to be having the time of his life making this movie.
BTW, I love the little scooter robot with the actual sounds from movie.

Endangered gopher tortoise killed

Operation Shell Shock: 4Chan starts a crusade and a good one at that.

While checking Know Your Meme, they had a story about an Operation Shell Shock via 4Chan. I know that 4Chan does a lot of mean and bad things, but they also get movements started when law enforcement and other groups refuse to move their feet. They've done this many times.
From the Daily Dot, ((The teens, as catalogued in graphic and disturbing videos they posted to YouTube and Facebook, attempted to burn the turtle multiple times. Unsatisfied, they threw it against the hard pavement multiple times, taunted it, and ultimately stomped it to death, all the while laughing and delighting in its suffering. ))
One of things that pisses me off is animal cruelty. I get really angry. I remember saving a turtle just sitting in the middle of a bike trail. I moved him to the other side so no one could run him over by accident. Generally, most turtles and tortoises are defenseless to attacks like this. The amount of pain this animal went through had to be huge.
Why would these two girls do such a heinous thing?
Because they were bored by the creature. I am not making this up. Lighting and stomping the thing to death is their form of entertainment. Someone get these girls a Wii U.
Did I mention that the gopher tortoise is endangered? So, killing one is highly illegal. And, of course this happened in Florida. Why do all the bad things happen in that state?
Someone started Operation Shell Shock to find out the information on these horrible girls via 4Chan. After discovering their IDs, they sent e-mails to the police and the local news channels. It appears the police are going to take action the matter, but something tells me it won't be much.
Why would you post something like this on your own FB and YouTube page?
Did they not realize the backlash that was coming to them?

The kicker is now they're remorseful and using a religious tone of forgiveness.
Some is pissed with your actions.

The Scarecrow from The Wizard of OZ carries a gun.

The Scarecrow from The Wizard of OZ carries a gun. Wait, what?
This comes from Hollywood Babble-On. They did a story about the Scarecrow carrying a gun on their podcast. It is true. For some reason, the Scarecrow is carrying around a six shooter...in a movie aimed at kids. I read that they had to cut out numerous scenes with the Witch because they felt the kids would view her as being too scary.  However, a pistol-carrying brainless straw-man is okay.
Given I used to watch this movie a lot, I have never noticed this before.
It seems other people noticed that old hay-face is strapped. This sort of changes the way I feel about goofy Scarecrow. The last person in the movie I'd give a gun to is a shaky Scarecrow.  Is this how he scares the crows?
Was this part of a bigger deleted scene?

I've talked to people that are fans of this movie and they never noticed the gun. And, I am sure they didn't believe me either until I showed them the photo.
Side Note: Here's the famous deleted Jitterbug scene and number

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn (Shaq Fu 2)

Shaq Fu 2? Holy crap, they're making this.
So, this is actually happening. I remember Shaq mentioning this earlier, but I thought he was just pulling our legs. They're making this game via crowd-funding through indiegogo. And, they met their funding goal.  WTF?
Who knew that a shitty game would get backing for sequel? However, here it is. By the way, Shaq Fu 2 will be on all the major consoles. Please tell me there will be a rapping genie super power in the game.
Something tells me Shaq never looked this fit ever.
Ho, ho, ho, Green Giant.
Check out the teaser trailer.
I am not sure how I feel about this sequel and the crowd-funding aspects. But someone else has an opinion. And I agree that we can't get a Chrono Trigger/Cross sequel via crowd sourcing.

Chewing Gum ads

Chewing Gum ads
Back in the 80s, I used to record episodes of TNG on videotape. I would also get ads from that era of TV too. The one I really remembered and still sing today are the Juicy Fruit commercials. Somehow, chewing gum ads took a page from soda and alcohol organizations and made the most disposable substance fun. Hey slap a song on a montage of semi-young people playing on a beach or lake and there you have it.
Does the guy that sings this song put this on his resume?

Chrono Cross Medley

Chrono Cross Medley
I got into a discussion with a guy about how well written the Chrono Trigger music is and I talked about the fact Chrono Cross music is also excellent as well. I've had fond memories of playing the game just to listening to the music. Many of the tracks are “doubled” but different due to being a difference in the Home World and Alternative universes.

Anyway, I came across this Internet collaboration between various musicians. The editing and mixing going into this medley must have been a huge undertaking. My favorite part is the last track where each musician has a bit of a solo. (Home World - Grasslands)
Bonus video.  Here's a Mass Effect 2 video with a mix of the game and London Philharmonic Orchestra versions of the suicide mission track.

I am just confused.

What in the heck did I just witness?
I discovered this strange but funny video via this guy. He watched the video with the same perplexing expression as I. I mean what hell was with the strange porno music and the slow motion stud? What is he mouth to her, “10001010110100110?”
Yes, despite the 90's CD Rom video game music, this intro video was produced in 2013. From what I can gather, this woman animates and designs most of these CGI characters. After watching numerous videos, I haven't laughed this much in a laugh time. (And, yes I get the 80s reference.)

Developer leader surprised by JJ Abrams dissing of Star Trek: The Game

Developer leader surprised by JJ Abrams dissing of Star Trek: The Game
I actually remembered JJ bashing the game. I even remember Paramount really pushing the tie-in video game. Remember that rather funny William Shatner ad? Yes, I still laugh every time I see it.
Something went horribly wrong with the game though. From Gamerhub via IGN, (("The last game, which was obviously a big disappointment to me, was something that we were actually involved in at the very beginning...and then we sort of realized that it was not going in a place that we were going to get what we wanted." Abrams told Gamerhub. "So we dropped out and they continued to do it despite…y'know." ))
Ouch, JJ really spilled the beans on this one. That was part of the marketing gimmick, claiming the same people that worked on the movie worked on the game. He made it a point to mention that they tried to distance themselves from the game. JJ went on to say that the game actually hurt Into Darkness as well. Double ouch.
The creative director says he was shocked to hear JJ dis the game. From IGN, (("I was kind of surprised, personally, to see one of the most awesome, popular and successful film directors working today slagging on that project. It kind of shook me, actually." ))
It would too. However, I'd like to know exactly the dev's side of the story in this thing though. I would say that the game looks nice and the score by Michael Giacchino (the movie composer) for the game is amazing. I also like that the game is the bridge between the two movies and is actually mentioned in latest movie.
Something tells me JJ will take more control of everything that Disney connects to his Star Wars movie.
Kirk: “Spock, I just sharted in my suit.”
Spock: “Luckily, Jim, the suit self-cleans itself.”
____________________________________________________________

Spock: “I just realized I just entered into Pon Far.”
Kirk: “Look, I am your friend, but I can't help you with that.”
Spock: “What about the needs of the one?”
Kirk: “Different time line, Spock.”

Sometimes Racism is...funny?

Sometimes Racism is...funny?
Every black man on the subway did the right thing. They didn't touch her and they filmed the entire thing, so she couldn't go back and lie about the black guys attacking her. We all know that cops will rush to the subway if they heard “Black guys attack white woman” with guns armed. She even mentions that she will get them arrested!
Anyway, I saw this on reddit and got a big laugh out of it. By the way, I love the hipster that she sits beside.

Kim Jong-un limping or swagger walk?

Kim Jong-un limping or swagger walk?
Man, the guy looks very unhealthy doesn't he? Plus, he seems to have put on some considerable weight, and he is trying to hide it with his black uniform. As his people starve, he seems to get fatter and fatter. Maybe he needs to take health lessons from Putin.
I'm surprised the state-run news show was able to even film their great leader limping considering that the cult of personality is practiced there.

Lindsay sues GTA aka Rockstar

Lindsay sues GTA aka Rockstar
I'm calling bullshit on this one. You see Lindsay, since she can't get any acting work now, does a shady thing. She will sue anyone that has money and hopes to get some cash out them. She's done this numerous times, sometimes winning money and sometimes losing. She has to feed her habits somehow, and suing people and companies that make money is one of them.
What's not talked about in many of the non-video game sites is the character is based on Shelby Welinder and not on the appearance of Lindsay. Sorry, Lindsay, you've never looked that good. Nice try. I guess she could sue for the likeness as for the character's history, but again this character is combo of all the various “famous” women in Hollywood.
People have made a case for a lawsuit. However, there is the shadow of parody that this clearly falls under. It just pisses me off that this is her form of payment now, suing. Rockstar shoulc really fight tooth and nail over this lawsuit.

Tara Reid is trending

Tara Reid is trending
What is this the late 90s? She hasn't been reverent since she had that f'ed up boob job incident. When she became known more for her drinking habits more than her acting talents her time was up,. Iclicked on the Yahoo Trending link, which was trending at number 4, to discover it was for that shitty Sharknado 2.
It seems the Asylum loves digging up actors and actresses to star in their movies. Really, you dug up Andy Dick?

Anyway, I've always stated that the cast of American Pie aren't doing as well as even they predicted. Heck, even the one I have a huge crush on hasn't lit up the screen in a decade (Shannon Elizabeth).

Slam City with Scottie Pippen: Holy Crap

Slam City with Scottie Pippen
Yes, this game actually happened. I discovered this little overlooked game from reading Sega-16. I was like, “wait, they made a game like this?” They hired actors and filmed, probably over days, this shit and put it to CD.
The best part of this shitty Sega CD game is Scottie Pippen actually “raps” the title song. Making a game after Jordan's Wing man is a bit weak. I guess Pippen saw Jordan's shitty video game and wanted to make his own. For his part, Pippen looks completely bored. Leave the shitty acting and rapping to Shaq, Scottie.

You have to love how the Sega CD and the 32X were full of shovel-ware games. I'm so glad we moved away from this shit, except now we just have hundreds of clones of the same game like the COD games or those football games.  But damn we were in a bad place with these FMV games.
I sucked at basketball, yes I am a black guy, so these sports games had little interest from me. But, looking back at this shit is wonderfully funny.  Does Pippen look back at this game fondly like Shaq does with Shaq-Fu?  Does he even remember he made a game?
-Who wrote this “street music”? I am almost sure this is the same composer as the Toe Jam and Earl fame. It sounds just like those games, but worst.

Please note the Sega Seal of Quality.  I always laugh when I see that seal on shitty games.
______________________________________________________

-Side stories: I love how there are random videos of the various characters talking to each other or making fun of you.
-FMV at it fullest: Yes, this was when they made games out of full motion videos instead of actual gameplay.
-Fou discs: Yep, the game has four discs. And it is all filled up with MPEG files. I love that FF7 had 3-4 dics and was full of content.
-Button Mashing: It looks like no one playing the game can really make the character do anything. Way to be interactive, Sega.
My favorite incident. The guy says, “Your ball, junior!” He then pops the ball with his bare hands (off screen). When it switches back to “gameplay” the ball has fully recovered from being popped. WTF?

Is this worst than Night Trap?
