Update: The mighty Quinn

Update: The mighty Quinn
This is literally hot off the presses. It was announced only hours ago that Alec Holowka passed away either today or yesterday. His sister announced that Alec died, I am guessing from suicide. Despite Quinn's friend being accused of similar stuff, Alec was the one attacked by the gaming press and it led to him losing his job.
While I still believe Quinn and as much as I hate her, I have two suggestions.
1 Leave Twitter for a long time: Nothing good will come from this. It is time to take a break from social media. And, this sort of thing can get you fired from Marvel and your other projects.
2 Get a lawyer NOW: If it comes out the allegations aren't true, someone from his family will probably sue you. You will be in a world of hurt that not even the gaming press can protect you from.
It will be interesting to see how the gaming press spins this story. Will they blame it on GG? Trump?

The Mighty Quinn: The Fire Rises

Back in the day, Alex Lifschitz was in a relationship with Zoe Quinn. He helped her create the anti-bully site crash Override, which fell through, and her currently unfilled Chuck Tingle VG. Perhaps dumping him can help her complete projects.  He was Quinn's white knight during GG. He was “one of the good ones” as they say.
Now, there are allegations floating around about Alex. The white knight himself has been #metoo-ed. Here's the Tweet that burned Alex.
Yeah, the allegations are that Alex took photos of her without her consent. I am going to combine the two tweets together because it gets even better.
((the icing on this cake is that i confided all of this to another game dev. we'd been Internet & Conference friends for a while, and she was hot on the "Women In Games" circuit at the time. she consoled me about how terrible he was, then started dating him a couple weeks late. and the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake is that homeboy further went on to help found a survivor support network, which you've probably heard of! ))
Instead of denying it, he has gone underground and deleted his Twitter. Damn, it didn't take GG to do that but his own rep.  Can he come back from this?
What is telling is that NO gaming site has even mentioned Lifschitz's allege incidents. It seems to be okay writing about Alec Holowka's allegations. It is because the woman accusing Alex of wrongdoing isn't Zoe? Wouldn't you want to investigate it right or wrong? Despite Zoe throwing him under the boat, no one in the gaming press won't even touch the story. Why isn't this getting the attention the Holowka story is getting?

Zoe Quinn: This isn't a dumpster fire. It is a barn fire. Holy, crap.

Things are getting crazy in the SJW and indie gaming community. People who were long-time allies during GG are now turning on each other. Zoe Quinn accused an indie game dev of misconduct and named names. Literally, things are happening as I write this post.
As much as I hate Zoe Quinn, I am starting to believe her story. The issue is the accused man (Alec Holowka) hasn't made a statement denying it. He retreated into his shell and protected his tweets. (His company Twitter is still up.)If someone makes damaging statements like these, he should have come forward and made a counter statement. And, he should have hired a lawyer for defamation against Quinn. He did none of this. If he doesn't come forward and prove her wrong, his career in gaming is completely over. If Quinn's allegations are false, and we know Quinn lies, he needs to combat them.
We are already seeing the fallout. Companies are cutting ties with Holowka. Given that these “woke” allies tend to turn out to be creeps, I am leaning toward Quinn's side for now. These pale/skinny men claim to be woke but are usually very controlling and abusive toward women. Here the thing; Quinn could be making this up. We just have to wait and see. Will Alec fall on his sword for the greater good or will he defend himself?  Get your popcorn ready.

Before companies start deleting and canceling Alec.

Boogie, you need to take a break

I haven’t been following all the shit that has been going down with Boogie.  However, it appears that he’s been spiraling out of control of late with his fans turning on him.  He keeps worrying about what people say about him and lashing out at his fans and trolls alike.  Not realizing he’s hurting his content.   He doesn’t understand that he is slowly becoming another DSP with his toxic behavior.
I fully understand what he is going through.  I’ve had some close calls with a mental breakdown of recent.  Unlike him, I don’t have a job that I really like and enjoy doing.  He needs to realize that and also seek help.
Going the Wings and DSP route will only destroy him.

Spammers revolt

Of course, I had to remove the post that a certain spammer keeps posting in.  Right on time, the spammer posted another comment in the post.  Frustrated, I removed the post from the blog and listed it under draft.

Dave Chappelle's special: my thoughts

After all the SJW outcry about Dave Chappelle, I read most of the Vice review of the comedian and I am guessing someone just had a political stick up their ass.  The Sticks and Stones special reminded me of his old tv show.  Some people from the far left can’t seem to realize that Dave attacks everyone in the special.  He goes after the left and the right at the same time.
He also brought my biggest issues with the left.  Instead of arguing over personal pronouns and micro-aggressions, let’s deal with the bigger issues such as abortion being rescinded in some states.  Instead of dealing with some Twitter bullshit go after the real bullies.
I love the comedy special and it is funny.  It does handle some of the current things I wanted to say.  The writer for Vice seems to want to push Chappelle toward a woke-ness stance and is upset that Dave won’t apologize.
We are living in interesting times when Chappelle is somehow the enemy.

sigh...

Okay, spammer, you win.  For about a year, one spammer keeps posting comment spam on one single post over and over every day, sometimes twice a day.  Despite me deleting his spam, he keeps posting and posting.  At this point, I am just going to remove the post that he keeps leaving spam.  I believe it is a very old post and doesn’t matter anymore.
He’ll probably jump to another post, but I would enjoy seeing him realize that his favorite post is gone.  It is 2019 and I am shocked that I STILL have to deal with this today.  This is so 2008.

Aquaman (Part 1 of 2)

Aquaman  (Part 1 of 2)

Who knew an actual Aquaman movie would be entertaining or at least somewhat entertaining? While the movie isn't perfect, it is the second-best DC movie in the DC universe. It does have a few flaws here and there. And, it tends to want to be the retro Thor 3 of the DC universe. Overall, the Aquaman is fun and has some decent action scenes. Like the other DC movies, the writing is the weakest part.  Given the sludge that was BvS and JL, Aquaman is a breath of fresh...water.
DC is really trying. If they can get their head out of their butts, they could turn this DC universe thing around. Everyone, including DC, considers Aquaman a joke. He is the superhero that “talks to fish”. DC took the lore and constructed a believable underwater hero.
The edgier 90s Aquaman with the beard and sharper attitude from is partly infused in this DC movie version. This Aquaman is closely related to Peter David's run of series. While there are parts from the Peter David run, the beer drinking and blue color elements seem to be new. Plus, he has a more positive view of humanity.
Jason Momoa is great as this version of Aquaman. There are other versions of the character that are stiff as a board, but Jason brings a blue-collar charm to his role. You want to cheer him on because he's likable. He wants to save lives because he enjoys it. I can't believe this is the same actor that had a major role in season one of Game of Thrones.
The cast ranges from being fair to good. No one other than one person stands out.

The Boulder King Strikes Back

The Boulder King Strikes Back
It appears Mundane Matt hasn't learned a damn thing.  There are a few videos being flagged that were aimed at Matt.  Most of them have been restored.  It seems Matt won't let go that some people make fun of him and he will go behind and flag them.  Yesterday, he went on a Tim Pool meltdown/rant on twitter.
Honestly, he needs to take a year off from YT videos and step away from Twitter for a long time.  Work a real 9-5 job to just get a perspective on what is important in life.  Work on some scripts and writing and come back refreshed.  And, stop worrying about what people say about you.
It amazes me how similar DSP and Matt are today.

Gary Coleman: For Safety's Sake : This is real

The Cinna Snob re-released his review of the overlooked Gary Cole special aimed at kids.  Given my curiosity with Coleman, I had no idea this existed.  I have to say this is golden and cheesy.  I mean this video is just strange.  Gary Coleman is sitting in a room watching children as if he’s The Watcher from that UPN show.  In most states, this would be considered illegal.  I do like that Coleman trolls the children by causing trouble.  I also find it fitting that Coleman is playing a super security officer and he became a security guard after his career collapsed.
-Gary’s career:  It seems this came out the same year as that last season of the show Different Strokes.  At this point, Coleman was considered poison and not easy to work with onset.  Plus, he wasn’t the cute kid from the earlier seasons.  You can see his contempt at filming this video.
-Watch those cue cards:  You can see Gary reading the cue cards on camera.  You can actually see the white cards in the reflection in his eyes.  Gary clearly didn’t give a shit.

Spider-Man to leave MCU?

Spider-Man to leave MCU?

Wow, Sony, you really want to run this Spidey franchise into the ground.  I am sure Marvel still regrets that they sold the movie rights to their leading character back in the 90s.  Now, they have to deal with fuck-heads at Sony that are more worried about bruising egos.
This is troubling news.  I think Spider-Man works better when he works alongside other superheroes and not in his own universe.  Why not share the 50/50 deal with Marvel/Disney?  Let Disney do the creative you reap the rewards.  Given the state of their other big franchise (MIB), they should take the deal and share make a back deal with the toys instead.  Like the X-Men universe, Rothman will run it into the ground without Marvel.
Having a unified universe just makes the brand stronger.
Not even Thanos could cause the level of destruction that these two have created.  They need to go.
