Ducktales

While reading AV's post on Cartoon oldies, it brought back memories of a simpler time. I watched one of the intros called Ducktales. Based on the comic book characters from the mind of Carl Barks, Disney updated the 1940/50s comics to a high production syndicated animated show. The show ran daily on various channels across North America, and it became extremely popular with both young males and females.

Because of Eisner's gamble, Ducktales made it possible for Disney to sell other high production shows into syndications. I still fondly remember coming home from school and watching a new episode every week. The mixture of humor and adventure was what kept me watching the show everyday. Sadly, today children's TV has turn into total crap.

Side note: Scrooge McDuck does make some appearances in the Kingdom Hearts videogame series.

Side Note: I still know all the words to the theme song and do sing it at work all the time.

I could never tell them apart

Do you agree with me that the show went downhill fast after the introduction of Fenton Crackshell and Bubba(outside of their longer mini-series story arcs I mean).

yeah they jumped the shark when they introduced those new characters and the older characters took a back seat. It almost seems like they were setting up a spin off the Bubba and GizmoDuck characters. But instead we got Darkwing Duck.

And you're right their introduction mini-movies were in fact better than their later appearances.
