Battlestar Galactica Razor
I have to say this; I have only seen a handful of episodes from the actual series and all of the miniseries episodes. I would say I’m not the strongest fan of the show, but I like it. However, I respect Ron Moore a great deal, and I think he’s doing a good job with the show. So, I came into this movie with an open mind, because I trust Mr. Moore.
I found Razor to be a pretty good story overall. With some editing, it could have very well been released in a limited fashion in theaters. The story is deeply rooted in the history and lore of the essence of Battlestar Galactica. In fact, the story digs so deep that causal viewers will be completely lost. You see, this story is for the fans; the ones that like the new show and the ones that enjoy the 70s show.
The story is incredibly dense with multiple flashbacks within flashbacks. Think of this movie as LOST on speed. However, for the most part, it works well. And, when you see the ending you’ll understand why. Could the show be moving into time travel soon? There are hints of it in this movie, if you watch carefully. So, I commend
This is probably my biggest beef with Razor. I think this story needed to be expanded to at least 4-6 hours, turning it into a miniseries. While I enjoyed the complex plot, the character and plot points needed to be fleshed out more. This is a story that very well could have worked on a grand scale.
End of part I

Razor was really meant for the fans because you are kinda lost without the entire background.
As a Fan who has seen all the episodes - i was sort of let down. Waiting for this was too much hype.
That is true, thank goodness for Wiki and TV.com. I was able to do a little research before going into the movie. I still felt lost in a few parts, but not much.
Being a huge fan of the old 70s show, that "by your command" scene was simply great. A true fanboy moment.
The "by your command scene" was priceless, good tip of the hat to old BSG fans. though i like the idea of the Pegasus backstory, the fans who already know the story didn't really need just that part. I was kinda hoping for a side mission from the Kain led Pegasus, rather than a re enacting of old info. Other than those issues, the movie was good. looking forward to part 2 of the review

Yeah, Paul I've read that a lot of the fans are saying that they didn't need the retelling of old stuff.
I loved that moment so much. Sure it was a tip to the old fans, but the movie had after that moment. I always loved he retro look of those robots.
