This is an extended shot in the director’s cut where we find out that the little girl that watched Clark race the train was Lois Lane and her parents. This shot was cut from the original print because the actor playing Lois is much older than Clark. Moreover, there is no reason for her to be younger than him. He’s in high school at this point in the film.
However, it’s a cute scene, and I’m glad it’s been restored.
