Part of that cut Subplot
This Stormtrooper is informing the council that Jor-El is doing something strange in his home. The Council sends this trooper out to kill Jor-El.
This is never followed up on in the director’s cut of the film. In the ABC (Another extended Cut) version, this stormtrooper is killed on the way to Jor-El’s house, as the destruction of Krypton begins.
This is a poor decision by Donner not to place the other trooper scene in his cut of the film. You have to follow up on this scene.
