Certain things just don't go together...
Worst Crossover ever? It is either this or Star Trek vs. X-men. (Yeah, this crossover happened too.)
Really? Did anyone ask for a Punisher/Archie crossover? Archie fans don't strike me as hardcore readers of the Punisher series. That's just my take on it.

Is this a crossover or more of a mashup? Think of it this way, What if Tiny Toons crossover with Batman? They just don't fit
How exactly did this crossover happen?
Well, this site explains the whole story behind it very well. Basically, it started out as a joke. The strangest thing about this story is that it leads directly into the better written Batman/Punisher crossovers. Somehow, they connected even Batman to Archie.
I vaguely remember this strange crossover. And, I have to give them props for doing something so strange and crazy like this. Since Marvel created this comic book in 94, they really had nothing to lose. Plus, this was during the time when Comic Book Crossovers were easier to do. (Before certain Marvel editors made sure that wasn't going to happen again.)
I'm almost sure this is out of continuity with the Marvel Universe.
Now, if they do another Punisher movie reboot, it should involve the Archie characters.
Side notes:
-Make sure to check out these panels from the crossovers. They're pretty amusing.
-Archie meets other people: This one is interesting because it would seem they've tried to add modern characters to Riverdale.
