Random Bits

Random bits

~A Saw 5, but Saw 4 hasn't even been released yet. Can we stop making these cheap torture porn movies for goodness sakes. Captivity bombed big time, so did Hostel: Part II. So can we start making horror movies with style and meaning instead of a collection of torture scenes?

~I'm watching the second season of Prison Break, and I am loving it too. This is great stuff. However, I don't see this format lasting long. I don't want the show to end up stale like 24.

~As a black man, I've never understood the draw of Tyler Perry and his stage plays and movies. I never really found his movies that funny. But, his movies always make tons of money. And, this time it's no different. Then again, this isn't my demographics.

The poster in the link is correct, adult movies are going to be a thing of the past. Family friendly movies have taken over. (Just why was Fantastic Four II PG?). Listen, I've sort of warmed up to kids, thanks to some of my friends having a baby and the baby laughs at my jokes, but I don't want to share the theater with a bunch families with millions of kids.

~That dude from Short Circuit is joining LOST. (Fisher Stevens)It sounds good to me. “Thank you Johnny 5”. He had two different last names for both Sort Circuit movies. That’s kind of strange

Hmm, i'm yet to start the show, watching Heroes and finishing up Jack, Samurai Jack :D. Is PB worth it, i mean i got nothing on my plate atm

As for the horror movies, Blair witch just got me off it long ago, i gave up back then, i said to myself, it's a comedy now.

Ammar: Yep, Scream broke the seal again for horror movies and they've been big money makers for the studios since. It seems to be cheaper to make these horrible torture horror films and than make something good.

I really liked the first season, but I am really loving the way Season 2 has opened up. There have been some really shocking moments here and there. It's like The Wire, it takes its time getting to the nice pay off.

Blayde: I recommend Prison Break for the simple reason it has a kick ass pay off at the end. The 1st Season builds and builds. And you want to see how these guys break out of prison. It takes a lot to into it because it is a little slow in the first few episodes. The side plots are interesting too.

You know I am a movie guy and I have never seen the Blair Witch Project.

you still watch Lost?
Why? I stopped watched after the first 4 or so episodes last season....

Lost is one of the few shows I watch currently when there are new episodes, though I do watch them on ABC.com.

I think last season was amazing.

I'm not finding S3 of Prison Break as good as S1/S2 so far - the last episode was a gigantic trash bag of cop-out, IMHO.

Though, like with 24, I'll stick with it to the end :)

thanks for popping in Yvonne, now you guys really make me want to check out this season to find out what's going on.

I heard that they have the whole series mapped out, but I am not sure how far along this show will go.
