Flight Plan and Red Eye barrowing plots?
I sat in a movie theater and watched the trailers for Flight Plan and Red Eye Back to Back. I got to thinking; are they the same movie or we seeing yet another one of these weird things where different studios coming up with the same concept. Well, here are the basic story points from both movies.
Red Eye
((A woman is kidnapped by a stranger on a routine flight. Trapped within the confines of a jet at 30,000 feet, Lisa has nowhere to run and no way to summon help without endangering her father, her fellow passengers and her own life. As the miles tick by, Lisa knows she is running out of time as she desperately looks for a way to thwart her ruthless captor and stop a terrible murder.))
Okay it deals with terror in the sky where she has no place to go. There is a kidnapping.
Flight Plan
((A claustrophobic, Hitchcockian thriller. A bereaved woman and her daughter are flying home from Berlin to America. At 30,000 feet the child vanishes and nobody admits she was ever on that plane.))
Whoa, we have kidnapping and the 30,000 feet thing.
Actually, both movies remind me of that William Shatner Episode of the Twilight Zone. Good episode, you should try to watch it, very creepy.
