Captain N: The Game Master

The Nostalgia Critic takes on Captain N: The Game Master

(Make sure to check out his video)

I remember this game and used to kind of hate this show. (Make sure to watch a few episodes on youtube.)

-They actually added a new character named Gameboy. And he was an talking Gameboy that talked. Really? They didn't have a Gamegear character show up on the Sonic cartoon. I hate that Gameboy character.

What gives, Nintendo?

-Yeah, The Nostalgia Critic is right. They actually brought in Levi Stubbs to do the voice of Mother Brain. I liked his voice in Little Shop of Horrors as the plant, but not really here. It is a little too close to the damn Audrey II plant.

-Mega Man looks like a cheap Ewok version instead of the character we see in the videogame. Most promotional material usually has him depicted as a kid or teenager, not an Ewok. Hell, the actual Mega Man cartoon drew him much cooler than the Captain N version.

-This show reminds me of the Kidd Video Cartoon. It is same premise! Captain N Started in 89 and Kidd Video in 84. Get this, they were both produced by the same company DiC Entertainment! They just recycled the damn show.

Here is the “Crossover” with the Zelda cartoon show.

Part two and Part Three

From what I can gather, this takes place years after the Zelda cartoon series. Link is drawn older and Zelda looks slightly different too. They even brought back the same voice actors. Plus, Ganon is defeated in this episode and the evil folks are trying to bring him back.

Here's a Youtube Poop version of the video above.

You can find out more here.

Great, Kid Icarus is an emo.

i loved Kidd Video and Captain N. I actually own both on DVD but they are not the best quality.

here's the simple truth.
I take Today's reviews of old shows with a hefty side of reserve because in most cases, the reviewer is grading and commenting on how they feel about the show today... not how they felt about the show back when it aired at a much younger age.

I appreciated reviews of older stuff but i wish there could be more acknowledment about then vs now.

I try not to blame the concept of the show, but the people behind it. The quality (DiC Entertainment) isnt that good, but I can see your point though.

We prehaps need to look at things in the contex that they're in. (IE The A-Team)

There's a chance of that. Not sure they can ever replace Mr. T though.
