Simpsons: You
did a nice little tribute
I haven't watch
the show in year, but this is sweet.
Marcia Wallace,
who played Bart Simpson's teacher, passed away recently. She was 70
years old, and surprising given that her character on the show never
really aged past middle age. She recorded all of her lines for the
rest of the season, but the character will “retire” after that.
(Sounds like Blade Runner)
From
Huffington Post, (("The
Simpsons" executive producer announced that Wallace's
character would be retired following
her passing. "Earlier we had discussed a potential storyline in
which a character passed away. This was not Marcia's Edna Krabappel,"
he said. "Marcia's passing is unrelated and again, a terrible
loss for all who had the pleasure of knowing her.”
))
I always liked the
chalkboard gags from the show, given that they are all different from
episode to episode. This time they put up the character's name of
their fallen comrade. Also note the mournful expression on Bart's
face. That's a nice touch.
Here's collection of
various chalkboard texts.
