New Trailer for The Beaver (That Mel Gibson movie)

New Trailer for The Beaver (That Mel Gibson movie)
First half of the trailer is eerily disturbing because it depicts a Mel Gibson character that has had a mental breakdown.  The character is like the person that the media views Gibson today.  It is crazy how much the trailer parallels his real life…without the beaver.
I was ready to write this movie off because of its silly concept, but something about watching a guy rebuilding his life through a puppet seems to work in the trailer.  I think director Jodie Foster could save this movie from becoming a bomb if she has Mel Gibson make some positive public statements that show that he’s taking steps to change, thus raising awareness of the message of the movie as well.
However, I get the feeling the studio will dump the movie and forget about it here in the US and Canada.  Interestingly enough, the film will have a release outside the US.
From ibtimes, ((While no definite US release date has been announced so far, the movie is scheduled to be released in the Netherlands on January 6, 2011, in Norway on January 14, 2011 and in the UK on February 11, 2010, according to celebrity-gossip.net. ))
So, I get the feeling they're going to try to coup their returns on markets outside North America.
I’m not willing to let Gibson off the hook, because he beat on a woman.  But, if he actually came out said he was working on his major problems, I might go see his “Beaver”.
