I just read the news a few minutes ago.
While he wasn’t as popular as Hulk Hogan, most people from my age remember him from his wrestling days. He was certainly a crazy character. From a pop culture stand point; he was all over the place.
-"The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!": I remember him more from his role in the live action portions of Super Mario show. Heck, the man showed everyone how to do “the Mario”.
-He also showed up on Hulk Hogan’s Rock n Wrestling cartoon. (Character model only, he was voice by someone else.)
-He also played Cyndi Lauper's father in the “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”
-People also forget that he had a role in Lauper's “Good Enough”. (That Goonies song)

awww i had no clue he passed.
I used to watch the rock n wrestlers and mario show and loved capt'n Lou in all things. he had the coolest rubber band face.
He was certainly a character. I loved his crazy program on Super Mario Bros Super Show.
