Delgo revisited

Delgo
While I haven’t had the pleasure or displeasure of watching Delgo, it is notoriously known as one of the very lowest grossing movies from a wide release in ages.  The movie wasn’t received well either by critics either.  It currently has a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The other thing the movie is infamous for is that it took forever to make the movie.  It went into development in 1999, and Freestyle Releasing distributed it in December 12, 2008.
Freestyle Releasing deleted any mention of distribution rights around Delgo. There is nothing about Delgo on their website.
The biggest problem with the movie other than the bad pre-PS3 graphics is the fact they hired Freddie Prince Jr. as the lead role. Freddie at this point is complete box office poison. Director Lexi Alexander from Punisher: War Zone mentioned in a podcast that the studio wanted Freddie Prince Jr. to read for Jigsaw, and he was amazing in the audition. Lexi wanted him for the role, but the studio said “no way”. They wanted him to read for the part for studio politics, but knew enough to never have him in the film.
Then, there was the talk about Avatar having similarities to Delgo. And, there was talk of a lawsuit by Marc F. Adler.
