From CNN.com ((Former 1980s teen movie actor and heartthrob Corey Haim died early Wednesday, authorities said. Haim, 38, was taken to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. PT (5:15 a.m. ET), Los Angeles County Deputy Coroner. ))

I can't say I was shocked by the news. Haim had a long history of battling substance abuse for a very long time. It is still sad to hear that he passed away though.

While I never was a huge fan of his work, a few movies he starred in were some classics of the 80s (The Lost Boys: This was the movie everyone remembers from his heydays. I still enjoy it.) But unlike his friend Corey Feldman, Haim's career was never as popular. It never seemed to take off.

And, it seemed Haim had darker demons to deal with than Feldman.

People are wondering what happened to him. What was the cause of death? He was only 38 years old. Like Brittany Murphy, he was too young to simply die of natural causes.

((Los Angeles police Sgt. Frank Albarran said earlier that Haim's death appeared to be accidental and may have been due to an overdose. ))
