Is Jessica Simpson Fat? Who cares?

((The plump pop star hit the headlines recently when she appeared onstage in Florida looking rounder than usual.))

I like how all the gossip pages are coming out and stating the fact that Jessica has put on a bit of weight, as if it doesn’t happen to all of us. We all tend to pack on a few pounds from time to time. Yet, the news folks and the gossip sites simply don’t understand what they’re doing here.

Despite all the negative press, this is actually giving Jessica a higher profile than what she deserves. Jessica’s career wasn’t exactly lighting up the stage of late. Let’s look at it this way…

1 Her move to country music hasn’t been that big. Country fans haven’t been that kind to her move to country.

2 Her movie career is in the dump. Starting out with the Dukes of Hazzard and Employee of the month isn’t exactly the way to jump start your career. She then followed it up with the direct to DVD films Blonde Ambition and Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous. Trust me, both of these movies were supposed to be released in theaters.

3 She’s been out of the public eye for a while. And, now she’s on every cover and web site out there.
