When they said Black Friday, they didn't mean this...
((Two people were shot to death in a crowded toy store on Black Friday in a confrontation apparently involving rival groups, city officials said.))
This happened in a Toy-R-Us store. For some morbid reason, I can’t get that damn Toy-R-Us song out of my head. Anyway, it this shooting doesn’t bode well for the rest of the Holiday season. Santa might have to start carrying a gun.
There are two possibilities here involving the shooting.
1. The two gun owners knew each other and had a beef: Call me silly, but a toy store isn’t exactly a suitable place to shoot it out.
2. Someone cut someone else in line or took the last Rock Band/Guitar Hero game: Again, if you kill someone over the latest music game, you won’t be at home to watch your kids fail at playing Guitar Hero.
Call me old fashion but Busting caps in someone else usually isn’t in the Christmas spirit.
What would Santa do?
(("Some people got into a fight," said Splain, who spoke with some of the customers. "One of the guys here thought it was over a toy, but it got louder and louder and then there were gunshots."
Sarah Pacia of Cathedral City told The Desert Sun newspaper she was in the store with her two boys, ages 4 and 6, looking at coloring books when she heard a commotion in the next aisle. She thought it was people rushing to get a sale item. Then she heard three or four shots.))
