While listening to one of the Internet radio stations, I came across some amazing music by a woman named Laura Karpman. It was a couple of tracks from the online game Everquest2. I was truly surprised how well done they were, fully orchestrated too.
The music, coupled with the voice acting ((Wil Wheaton ‘Star Trek: TNG’, Dwight Schultz ‘A-Team’, Heather Graham ‘Roller Girl’, Christopher Lee ‘Lord of the Rings and Star Wars’,)), must have cost Sony a pretty penny (doh, why is a penny pretty?).
Karpman stuff seems to be more playful than some of the other composers I’ve heard from videogames. Her other big hit was the great mini-series "Taken".
