Chrono Trigger Story Part 5

I should go back and talk about a very important character to Chrono Trigger, Magus.

Magus

Magus is an user of the dark arts, meaning he is a very powerful black mage. During the year of 600 A.D., Magus has gathered all the Mystic tribes under his rule. (Note: The Mystics are a race of intelligent monsters of different types. They don’t really like the human race too much.) Magus and his Mystic army start a war against the human race. The Mystics themselves are more interested in destroying the humans than Magus is though. Magus tells his army that they must summon Lavos to help in the complete destruction of the humans.

As Magus’s plan is about to launch, Chrono and gang swoop in to save the day. Even though Magus is defeated, he still has enough power to summon Lavos. However, Magus and the Chrono gang disappear into time portals caused by Lavos. Magus disappears from the 600 timeframe, but where did he end up?

The Characters of the Zeal Kingdom

Queen Zeal

Queen Zeal is the ruler of the magical Kingdom of Zeal. She has two children, Princess Schala and Prince Janus.

The Queen over the years has grown unstable and has started acting strangely. She starts talking about harnessing the power of Lavos…

Princess Schala

Princess Schala is bright and beautiful young woman that believes in equal rights between the earthbound tribal people and the powerful people of Zeal. She is generally a soft-spoken person who takes care of her younger brother Janus. She is the voice of reason and hope among all the humans of this time. She starts to notice a change in her mother’s personality, and is greatly troubled by it.

It should be noted that she carries a powerful pendent that is linked to Time travel and Lavos.

Janus

Janus is the younger brother of Schala. Janus is a hothead and a spoiled little brat. He doesn’t agree with his sister’s outlook on life, but deeply looks up to her. She, in a way, has been his real mother. Janus has a craving for power, but not as great as his mother, Queen Zeal.
