Sonic The Hedgehog

Yesterday, I got to play the demo to Sonic The Hedgehog on the Xbox 360. For a long time, I’ve been looking forward to playing this game. As you already know, I’ve been a long time fan of Sonic. The games on the old systems were fast and didn’t have the sugar coated kids gamesplay that plagued many of the Nintendo games even of today. However, in some ways Sonic has lost his way, being in really bad racing games and endless cartoon spin offs and adding more kid friendly characters. Sega has whored Sonic the same way Nintendo’s Mario (Mario with a water gun? Come on, Big N). Sonic the Hedgehog (New game on PS3, X360, and Wii) is Sega’s attempt to head back to the basics, while bringing the best the new systems have to offer.

The game is fast and the graphics are pretty, for a X360 game, but the main problem with the game is the very sensitive controls. The controls are very unforgiving to mistakes, and you will see your character taking many nosedives of cliffs. That being said, the music is okay and a far cry from the techno/Rock mess that has plagued the Dreamcast, Gamecube, and PS2 Sonic games.

Here’s hoping they can fix the control issues, before the release

Kind of Green Hill Zone...

I've been hearing a lot of bad things about the demo.

I really do hope they fix things up, and fast.

You're right, there are some major issues that need to be fixed. The game is really pretty, but the controls will make people stop playing the game.

Even though Sonic Adventure was buggy as hell, the controls were simple, that was what helped that game sell.
