You probably don’t know his name, but you probably remember his face. He’s a character actor, namely playing parts in big action movies. Even though he was of Chinese descent, he played many Asian roles. (He played a Japanese man in Gung Ho.)
Even for his older age, he seemed like a guy full of life and vigor. He obviously lived a long and healthy life. He got to do what he liked for a living. What else can one ask for?
I still get a kick out of his role in the Dentist scene in Lethal Weapon 4.
He also played another crime boss also named Uncle Benny (Ben) in The Corruptor. He had a tiny part in The Fifth Element, but it was a cool scene.
He was one of the “That Guy” types.
He’ll be missed.
