24 S5 part 3

Probably some of the most compelling dramatic moments in the show came at the tail end of the season. For once, it felt like the writers wanted to push the bounties of their restrictive format and go for a dramatic tone this season. I loved every minute of it. Plus, this time around, not everyone working with Jack ended up killed.

I enjoyed the whole conflict between Peter Weller’s Christopher Henderson and Jack Bauer during the whole season, but I really loved seeing these two being forced to work together toward end of the season. Weller (Robocop) just kicked ass as one of the main bad guys. It was a little shocking to see Bauer shooting him in cold blood, but if there ever was a guy that deserved to see his maker, it was Henderson.

Kiefer Sutherland going after President Logan was also another cool moment, especially when he kidnapped Logan, demanding a confession. That was an intense moment, and I wasn’t sure if Bauer was going to pull the trigger or not. The most amazing scene was when Logan finally gets ousted as the man responsible for President David Palmer’s death. We watch as Palmer’s body is loaded into the plane and Logan is taken into custody. It was truly a remarkable and somber moment. I should also note that by having Palmer killed, we get to see that Bauer will stop at nothing to find the people responsible for his friend’s death. It shows that despite Bauer’s faults, he is still a honorable person.

I didn’t think they could do it, but season 5 was one of the best seasons since the 1st and 4th seasons. Like wine, 24 does get better with age.

Grade A-

Jack: "Can you hear me now, mother*#$er?"

Yes, Sam the Hobbit was part of this season’s plotline. I’m just happy he didn’t say ‘I’m sorry Mr. Frodo’

Poor Edgar Stiles, he never got to kiss a girl.

This year’s Kim Bauer.

sean astin's character was very annoying to me, and i thought to myself why would the president appoint someone so incompetent, until i found out logan was behind the whole consipiracy to begin with. it showed the 'weak' president was very thorough in his plans, even to putting an incompetent leader into CTU.

You know, I never thought about it that way, but you're right. It does make sense to have some there that's not fully aware of the situation, but just enough to slow them down

There are hints here and there that indicate that wimpy thing was completely an act to begin with.
