Update: As I am writing this story, a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder and a life sentence. Well, now he doesn’t have to worry about getting a job or paying bills. Back to the story.
It is Grant Amato all over again, but it isn’t about a camgirl model. This Joel Guy killed his mother and father. Unlike Grant, he really had nothing going for him, yet he did it for the money. Plus, he was a lazy sack of shit just like Grant.
The reason for this double murder was because the parents wanted to live out their retirement and nothing more. Guy lived in another state going to college for six years. He dropped out and moved back into his house. It should be noted his parents paid for his college years. When he moved in with his parents, he refused to get a job and just stayed in his room all day. The parents, being a little strange themselves, wanted to move away and live out their retirement.
He's one of those fat awkward guys that probably smells like lunch meat and creeps everyone out. Anyway, he was so lazy that he went out of his way to create a manner in which to get rid of his parents. Just get a shitty job and go back to school, dude.
Here are some key points worth mentioning about this POS.
-He was going to put the blame of his mother's death on his father: For some reason or perhaps he was lazy, he scrapped that plan. Too much work?
-He had a notebook planning out the murders: His own words were used against him. He was lazy enough to not get rid of his own notes and planning material. What a stupid prick. His notes were written like a grocery list. BTW, he spared the dog but was planning to kill him/her. This notebook would later be used against him. Why would he go for a not guilty again?
-Like Grant, he was going to take the insurance money in order to avoid getting a job: Yep, he went through great lengths to avoid getting a shitty job. For some reason, younger generations can't accept a shitty part-time job and desire the sit at home and do nothing.
-If he loses the case, he wants the death penalty. Sorry, the judge doesn't have that power. The prosecution has to seek the death penalty. They didn't and I don't think the jury would pick it anyway.
-He placed their chopped bodies into tubs with his acid solution: He planned to put their bodies in tubs to dissolve the bodies and flush down the remains. His father's head was turned into a skeleton. When the cops showed up, the bodies weren’t fully liquefied yet and his mother skull was still “cooking”. I wish I was making this up...
-He stabbed his father 40 times and his mother 30 times: For once, he put effort into something, I guess.

Hey -- if you want a Grant Amato part III, it would be Chandler Halderson. The prosecution's opening statement is a genuinely interesting listen -- one of the best opening statements I've ever watched. Just thought you might be interested.
can't wait to check it out. Thanks for the heads-up.
