The mighty Quinn II

 

 

Well, it has been two years since Quinn updated her supporters on that FMV game she was making.  And, the comments have been brutal.  Keep in mind many of these people were the ones that supported her during GG.  My thing has always been to support your beliefs and even SJW causes, just don’t support Zoe Quinn.  She is a grifter that gets into a field and builds up protection around her in the disguise of being an SJW.  She comes into these groups and burns bridges as her white knights protect her exit.   

Sophia Narwitz has done an outstanding job writing another post about Quinn on her anniversary of not updating her supporters.   

It does frustrate me that the gaming press protects her at every turn.  It angers me when one of her allies speaks out about her and gets blacklisted.  It pisses me off that she hasn’t even bothered to talk to her backers that threw nearly 85K to a game that is still unfilled.  It irks me that the gaming press and Alec’s sister refuses to look further into the death of Alec Holowka and the claims behind Quinn’s allegations.  Every time she does something questionable, they sweep it under the rug.   

While I am glad people are finally looking into the Kickstarter, which she hasn’t updated in two years, I wonder if this new talk about Quinn is counterproductive.  The more dirt people dig up about Quinn, the even more white knights will appear to defend her. Given that GG has faded, there are people on both sides of the argument that want nothing more to start up GamerGate Reboot, including Zoe Quinn and Anita.   

While it is unhealthy for her to get away with that Holowka thing or the 85K unfilled Kickstarter, it might be better for all of us to let go of Zoe Quinn and let her fade into nothing.  Besides, we have bigger issues to deal with than creepy blue-haired game developers.  Look, talking about harassment and game journos is a sound ground for discussion, but Quinn no longer needs to be part of anything.  She’s destroyed friendships, betrayed her supporters, and divided the indie gaming scene.  She then has the nerve to just ship to comics after leaving the indie gaming scene burning.  She’s burned, everyone.   

Then again, she will probably do something else stupid and get me to write about her.  Damn it, Quinn.
