If you don’t buy this shoe, you will die a horrible, watery death. Yeah, that’s the way to sell a product. If it wasn’t an ad for a shoe with a pump, I’d actually like the ad more. This was back in the 90s when you could threaten bodily harm to your customers in order to get them to buy your products. Ah, the “extreme” 90s
This ad was on TV in the US for a short while because people started complaining about the ad saying it was dangerous and promoted death. They thought children would start to try to do the same thing. The ad was pulled from US stations.
Why isn’t there anyone on the bridge to help the guy up after the jump? Did he just hang there all day listening to the screams from his friend’s drowning? I don’t think the Reebok Pumps would have magically helped him back to the bridge.
The Youtube page says these two jumpers are brothers John and Peter Kockelman.
Yes, the other guy had Nike shoes on. So, if you wear Nikes, you will die then?
I actually had some black Reebok Pumps up until recently. They were probably about ten years old, but only wore down a few years ago. The pump had stopped working by then.
This ad by Dominique Wilkins is a direct bash against MJ
