Linda Hamilton is pretty much done with the Terminator franchise. She is the second person involved with the Terminator movie and as it has left a bad taste in people’s mouths. I think the franchise was done after Genisys. Tim Miller and James Cameron have point fingers at each other for the blame of the bomb. The blame wouldn't have been there if this movie was a huge hit.
From what I can tell, Linda felt strongly about the direction the film series was going and was heartbroken with poor response from moviegoers. So, she is taking her chips and leaving the table. I think it is more of a bitter response.
The franchise is tired and needs to rest. How many times can you reboot or remake the franchise? I think the only way to rebuild the franchise is to make it a 10-episode series on Netflix or Disney Plus. Do a new series with a different take on the franchise, but I’d wait ten years before doing that.
