Arsenio Hall goes off

Arsenio Hall goes off on Queer Nation I vaguely remember hearing about this incident. Arsenio Hall goes off and pretty much makes some good points here. It seems a radical gay rights organization Queer Nation attacked Hall's show. What got me interested in the incident was because Hall has had gay guests on his show, and I'm not sure why Queer Nation decided to attack only Hall's show. I've supported gays rights and I strongly support gay marriage, but to go into so-called heterosexual establishments and do a so-called walk-in isn't going to help your cause. Perhaps, if there was a “Heterosexuals only” signs in the establishments, then I'd agree with them. But to attack Arsenio Hall at the time seemed a little unfocused. Like I wrote before, Arsenio held his own against these guys. And, this coming from not the biggest Hall fan.

Steven Seagal’s Lightning Bolt Energy Drink : The Return

Image
Steven Seagal’s Lightning Bolt Energy Drink This is kind of a repost for a friend. However, I have remind you that Steven Seagal’s energy is the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. Like bad case of gas, it was a taste that stayed with me for hours. Check out Steven Seagal’s amazing website on the powerful drink. ( Check it out here ) From the Website, ((When Steven Seagal traveled to Asia searching for the ingredients for Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt, he wanted a universal Asian character to summarize it's energy and power. The character known as "CHI" stands for power, and energy in many Asian languages and cultures. )) I guess he was traveling when he wasn't being a cop in Jefferson Parish, he went along the various lands in Asia in search of the magical drink that is Lightning Bolt. Oh, it gets better. ((The name Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt was an inevitable afterthought. When Steven Seagal finished creating a drink that holds untold ...

Conan out and Leno in?

Image
Conan out and Leno (The big chinned Doritos guy) is back in? Hollywood insider Nikki Finke is reporting that NBC is playing hard-ball with Conan after supposedly giving the Tonight Show to Leno. And, that guy with the squeaky voice has his show back. Here's the best part of the story, ((At 12:35 a.m. ET. Last week also saw Conan deliver bigger audiences than CBS's Late Show with David Letterman and the ABC lineup of Nightline and Jimmy Kimmel Live in adults, men and women 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54. Conan has finished #1 or tied for #1 among broadcast networks in adult 18-49 rating for nine of the last 11 weeks. The median age of Conan’s audience last week was 45.6, nine years younger than Nightline's" 55.0 and 11 years younger than Letterman’s 57.3." )) So, NBC doesn't want the age groups of 18-35 in the demo? That doesn't make much sense. Leno always has an older audience, while Conan a bit younger. Keep in mind this is the same company ...

Conker's Bad Fur Day

Conker's Bad Fur Day I was never a Nintendo fanboy, and I will never be one. Yet, I have to give credit to the company Rare for making the controversial platform game called Conker’s Bad Fur Day. What is interesting about this game is that the final version of the game is full of dirty humor, cussing, violence and movie parodies. These were things Nintendo was never comfortable with, and Nintendo only wanted pure and cute games on their systems. Rare didn’t want that and made Conker a parody of all that Nintendo cuteness. (A bee having sex with female sunflower with big boobs) Here’s the kicker though, Conker’s Bad Fur Day wasn’t supposed to be this mean little dirty game. Originally, Rare started making the game Conker’s Quest, and CQ was supposed to be the typical ‘Cute’ platform. And I remember magazines showing images of Conker’s Quest in the early stages too. Before the drastic overhaul, they renamed the game Twelve Tales. What’s even funnier is that N...

Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil

Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil I remember hearing about the first movie back in the day, but I also remember everyone hating that movie. So I look on the main page of IMDB, and there is a “Opening this Week” link with this movie in it. Given the cast, you would think there would be a bigger promotion for the movie. I've heard nothing about it, and I can't find a trailer for it on YouTube. The Wiki page is stating that the movie is being delayed, and we all know that isn't a good sign. If The Weinstein Company is involved, it may never see a release date. What is funny is Burger King is supposed to be a partner and has already released the toys for the promotion, oops .

2010 movies, Are you ready?

Image
Movieline has a prediction of the Top Ten bad movie of 2010. I'm looking forward to seeing which of these movies will become critical train wrecks. I'd like to add my two cents into the movies they've predicted. Make sure to see the trailers in the link above. Sex And the City 2: I'll admit that the first film wasn't that bad. I kind of enjoyed it. However, at this point, the Franchise should be called The Golden Girls II. The first movie pretty much closed the door on the series I thought. I want to go to Egypt too, but I don't want to see these women there. Furry Vengeance: So “fierce creatures” start attacking the guy from the Mummy series. The kids will eat it up. And, I think Joe Six-Pack will show up too. This movie will be a hit, sadly. Valentine’s Day : First off, I hate Valentine’s Day, so this movie already has points against it. Second, it uses that horrible Black Eyed Peas song “I got a feeling”. Third, it has Ashton Kutche...

Gatorade's Tiger Woods “Unfaithful”

Image
Fake Special Editions of Gatorade bottles with the words “Unfaithful” appear on store shelves. ( The story is here ) That’s right Bootleg labels were found on Gatorade bottles that were usually Tiger Woods drinks. Tiger’s drink was called “Focus”, and I could make a joke here about that, but I won’t. ( If you want to a Tiger Joke watch this video ) I probably would have never noticed the drinks because I am always in a rush to get out of the store. They did discover one of the folks behind the Unfaithful marketing. ((An e-mail address on the fake label belonged to Jason Kay of Longmont, Col., 9 News reported. He says was involved, but called the "Unfaithful" labels a friend's "pop art" project. Kay said his friend did not want to be contacted. "The artist wants to remain anonymous because there are similar future projects in the works.")) I guess he doesn’t care if jail time is coming his way, because the FDA is looking into this ma...

Conan O'Brien is done with The Tonight Show

Image
C onan O'Brien is done with The Tonight Show I have to say well done, Conan. NBC tried to screw you over again by pushing your show back 30 minutes. Thus, killing your show. Here are some finer points of Conan's statement , (( Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both. )) Heck, NBC should have let Conan stay in his show and let Leno go. However, NBC is ...

Year One

Image
Jack Black: “Why are you doing this? I already apologized for making Envy .” Crowd: “You’re here for Nacho Libre , Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny , and The Holiday .” _____________________________ Year One Wow, what a letdown. The trailers made this comedy seem kind of funny. To be fair, it probably was good concept in early drafts, but the final product just isn’t that good. Year One has a few funny moments, but the movie isn’t that good as a whole. That’s biggest problem with the film, it feels too cut and paste to make much sense as clear narrative. It has a let’s throw everything against a cave wall and see what sticks. Producer Judd Apatow should be a shame of himself here for putting his name on such a bland film. And, it gets worst. Harold Ramis hasn’t gotten any better since Analyze That . Ramis just seems to cut from one lame joke to another without it much making sense. Apatow and Ramis needed to work on the script a few m...
