The reporter took Burt's slap surprisingly well. He should have at least said, "that's not cool," but Burt was a complete tool during that interview. He doesn't have enough of a career to get away with that, anymore than Zsa Zsa did when slapping the cop.
You're right, it seem like Burt was having a really bad day and took it out on someone. He has no career to be acting like that. Its sad too.
