LOST: Main Theme (Live from National Concert Hall, Dublin / June 2019)

Image
Because that crappy Fantasy Island had some really Lost-like tracks, I have been going down the rabbit hole of Lost again.  I listened to some great music from the score by Michael Giacchino .  One of the things that captured my interest in the show was the main theme after the opening scene, and we see Jack walking through the chaos.  The actual name of the track is “ Credit Where Credit Is Due ”, but the song is the main theme of the series.  This version above was recorded at a concert with Giacchino.   There is a rap song that uses the strings as a background track.  I forgot the name and have been looking for the song.  There is another track I really like from the concert.  I call it the travel themes.  There are two themes used on the show to denote travel around the island.  This track uses both of them.

Semaj Update

Image
After a year of dealing with COVID-19, I finally contracted it a few weeks ago.  It was not fun.  During its early stages, my head, ear, and muscles hurt.  It was hard to think clearly.  After the harsh phase subsided, I completely lost my sense of smell and taste.  That was brutal.  I’ve only partially regained my sense of taste and smell back.  I can smell stronger things.  Whereas it nearly killed my parents and killed an uncle, I was able to jump back because I use a lot of water pills because of my medical condition The problem is that I generally don’t have contact with people and don’t hang out or hook up with people.  I avoid crowds at all costs.  Here's hoping things get better.

Fantasy Island Movie (no review)

Image
Fantasy Island Movie (no review) I grew up on the really corny Fantasy Island series.  I used to watch it with the Love Boat.  Heck, I even know about the forgotten remake from the late 90s with Malcolm McDowell.  Now, why would they even bother making a remake for the big screen though?  It seems odd.  Hey, let’s cast a bunch of good-looking people and not have a script.   I tried to watch the movie, but I could only watch about 15 minutes of it.  I had to stop it because it was so poorly made and dumb.  Furthermore, I can watch terrible movies, but not like this, and I simply couldn’t sit through it.  Blumhouse isn’t my company for high quality.    The only good thing to say about the movie is that the   Bear McCreary score is pretty good.  If you listen to it by itself, it is a good set of tracks.  My only problem is there are moments when he seems to like the Lost strings and horns, thus making it sou...

Deleted Scenes of the Klingon Attack in Star Trek the Motion Picture

Image
Star Trek TMP:  Extra Klingon Footage Released     One of my favorite parts of the misunderstood Star Trek TMP was the Klingon opening with  V’ger .  I loved the detailed model work and the new Klingon look, which was changed for ST3 a bit.  It is a nice way to reveal your bigger villain by having him or her wipe the floor with your regular series  villain .       There were a few things that bothered me about the scene. What happened to the third ship?  It just disappears from the movie and we’re left with two ships.  In certain cuts, we see the Klingon captain lunge backward as if being hit.  Why did that happen?  Why did only ONE ship fire torpedoes?  They’re freaking Klingons.     Well, after 41 years, someone uncovered some never-before-seen footage from the Klingon battle with  V’ger .  The missing footage explains a lot.  It explains the biggest plot hole ab...

JewWario interview that creeps me out...

Image
Well, this hasn’t aged well at all.  Given what we know about JewWario, this has become really creepy.  You can tell there is darkness to him and the strangeness of the interview is unsettling.  He had a great many young female fans, and he took advantage of them because of that.   After getting fired by Channel Awesome, he ended up killing himself.  We know why.  Keep in mind the same girl talked about his friendship with during his memorial.  The whole taking a girl between 16-18 upstairs to change her shirt is really creepy.  Why would a married man end up with a shirtless young fan in his hotel room?  Hmm...  From this video, you tell Justin was a groomer

Bawls Guarana Original Soda

Image
I went to my local Kroger store and I encountered something I haven’t seen in years...since 2009.  I found some bottles of Bawls.  Bawls is a different type of energy drink.  I only saw Bawls cases in GameStop.  It seems the drinks were aimed at gamers during that time.  From 2000-2013, Bawls was all over the gaming community.  For me, the drink sort of disappeared.       So, I discovered a whole bunch of them at a Kroger store and bought two.  The taste is still good, and they are potent energy drinks.  I ended up staying up all night.       BTW, " Brazilian American Wildlife Society is what “Bawls ” stands for.  Yeah, right.  You just wanted to make a dirty name for your drink and have bloggers like me make fun of the name.  “I love having Bawls in my mouth.”  I truly hate the name Bawls and I have trouble putting Bawls to my lips.       It is too easy....

Final Destination Flight 180 Explosion (Fan Edit)

Image
One of the only coolest things about Final Destination 5 is there is a major twist toward the end of the movie.  After everything is settled in FD5, it turns out the characters entered onto  Volée  Airlines Flight 180.  We realize that the entire movie was a prequel and not a sequel. And that the  surviving  characters are now going to die on the doomed plane. The first movie was filmed in 2000 and the 5 th  movie was filmed in 2010.       Jason T  did a fan edit tying the two movies together with the two scenes in the same setting .   Here’s  where they go  in-deft into the fictional explosion.  Anyway, check out the fan edit between footage filmed ten years apart.

Willy's Wonderland and Five Nights at Freddy's

Image
You know there is something familiar about this concept.  Someone from work mentioned this movie because I talked about Nic Cage.   I saw the trailer and couldn’t believe  how much it has in common with the game series Five Nights at Freddy's.  After looking into it, this movie isn’t an adaptation or remake of FNAF.  That could cause some problems...legal problems.  Willy’s and Freddy’s, are you serious?  The twist is that the “hero” kicks the robotic puppets’ asses.       If you lived in Louisville, you had Chuck E. Cheese and  ShowBiz  Pizza in other places.  Chuck Cheese bought the remaining Show Biz locations.  Both companies had creepy robotic singing animals.  As a child, I was always scared of these soul-less monsters singing creepy songs as your parents ate shitty pizza.  The only reason to go to Chuck E. Cheese was to play the arcade videogames.  I remember spe...
