Game of Thrones episode 8 thoughts   -Oberyn Martell and the Mountain: Yeah, I would have been better prepared when fighting someone called The Mountain. I loved this fight because it showed two different styles of fighting. Martell is fast and graceful while Big M is a blunt instrument. The new actor playing the Mountain is huge. -By the way, no more bi-sexual conquests for that guy -Literally smashing a head like a grape: I knew it was coming, but man it was bloody. Take out the eyes and then pop goes the head. X-Men: Days of Future Past Hunger Games indeed.  One thing that the movie does so well is handling the various storylines from the X-Movies.   And, all the X-Men movies are mentioned or dealt with in this story.   Keep in mind though that this is clearly a sequel to X-Men: First Class with the bookend stories being callbacks to the first three movies.   Singer and his writers really pay tribute to the X-Men movie lore while giving us some nice touches on the comic X history.   Heck, they had Bishop show up in the future settings.   The timeline stuff could be viewed as being confusing, but I think Singer handled those issues fairly well.   I loved seeing future Wolverine trying to get into vibe of his past self’s life.   The setting of the 70s is a nice change of pace from the 60s in the first movie.   Plus, we also get an extended view of Nixon and his dealings with mutants.   Setting the movie in the 70s was a brilli...

Elliot Rodger My thoughts... I've been sitting on this story until most of the facts have been floating to the surface. The things this kid did were horrible, and he's a monster. He had no right to cause so much terror in the name of being a lonely guy. However, I went through similar things growing up. I didn't have a normal family structure (divorce) and had a stuttering/learning problems in my really younger years. These things set me aside as being normal, thus not having many friends. In middle and high school, it became apparent to me that women either found me very unattractive or didn’t know I existed. 20 th Century Fox X-Men music variant I always like seeing and hearing movie logo variants. For Singer's X2 and X-Men Future's Past Fox logo music, he had Ottman add the X-Men theme to the end of the track. I had a big smile on my face when I heard this variant in theater Friday. By the way, the rest of the logo music is the updated version of the 20 th Century music rewritten by John Williams. Alfred Newman wrote the original version back in the 30s. By the way, the “X” in Fox now fades last after the screen fades again. Alien 3 did a similar thing. Here it is.
