Marcos Baghdatis: Cry baby or genius?

Image
Marcos Baghdatis: Cry baby or genius? I think a little bit of both.   I know nothing about tennis and very little about sports in general, but I like this guy’s style.   If you’re going to break tennis rackets, at least break them all.   I’ve been so pissed that I crushed a damn plastic cup with my hands.   So, what was the price of this meltdown?   From the Washington Post sports section, ((In all, the fiery Cypriot broke four rackets during a meltdown that lasted less than a minute and earned him a $1,250 fine — or just over $300 per racket.)) I-have had-enough of-you

Aurora Snow: This Crap is Bananas...BANANAS

Image
One very unhappy Banana Man, I just love Aurora Snow . Anyone that knows me personally knows that I am a major fan of Aurora Snow. I was into her “girl next door looks” around the time these “girl next door” women started to push out the fake boobs and face-lifts women out. So, I got a little chuckle out of this video. Can't a woman play around with some fruit? (I better stop before I say something inappropriate) Did I mention that she's also a very smart girl? Yeah, take that Sasha Grey fans. I guess her video of her playing around with her bananas got her video flagged. This video came out exactly around the time SOPA and PIPA were in the news. While I don't think YT would have had a problem with the video, something tells me the certain women and religious people probably complained about it and flagged it. This has happened before. Like when two pornstars were just talking about sex, it got taken down. This goes back to giving too much...

I wash the SOPA off and it goes down the PIPA

SOPA and PIPA: A short thought I've been sitting on the sidelines and not mentioning the bill at all on my site. I decided to sit and listen to both sides. I was cynical and didn't think people would have enough power to slow down the bill, but the Internet surprised me again this week. Never has there been a more diverse group of Internet users from all colors and flavors coming together and protesting these bills. However, MC did a wonderful post on his blog . He brought up the abuse of power these copyright holders will have over the little people like you and me. If someone doesn't like my review on the Love Guru , what's to stop them from filing false copyright claims to shut me up? That's the part of SOPA and PIPA I don't like. If this bill passes, you will have to wonder how much groups like FOX or Scientology will abuse the powers. I don't want groups like Scientology to flag me falsely for making fun of Xenu. One thing the pr...

Red Tails trailer

Image
Red Tails: That George Lucas produced movie Okay, the FX looks very good, but the dialogue leaves much to be desired. The story is based on the historical events of the Tuskegee Airmen program. George Lucas is producing the movie with his “Yes-Man” Rick McCallum, so that might turns some people off. There are already rumblings with mixed reviews. I have an huge issue with this movie. It was already made back in 1995 with Laurence Fishburne starring and they called it The Tuskegee Airmen . And, Cuba Gooding Jr. is in both Tuskegee Airmen movies! That movie handled the depiction of the Airmen very well. So, you know that people are going to compare these two movies. And, it doesn't help when you have the same actor in both movies. And, because Lucas is involved, be prepared for Lucas-backlash because of his past record.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

Image
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil Finally, there is a spoof movie that does the whole spoof thing right.  It stands on its own as standalone movie, but clearly takes the piss out of horror movies.  I actually laughed a great deal with some of the scenes.  And, I like both Tucker and Dale as characters.  The movie is silly, doesn’t fall into the “spoof movie” mode of jokes.  The movie is about a group of college kids going to a camping site out in the middle of nowhere.  They encounter some hillbillies that are mostly harmless and rather buffoonish and laughable.  Through a series of misunderstandings, the college kids and hillbillies clash and a lot of people die or get hurt.  It is like the college kids are in horror movie, while the hillbillies, Tucker and Dale, are in a slapstick movie.  Tyler Labine does a great job playing the loveable Dale.  He seems to make him more than a stupid hillbilly.  Then again, the movie i...

Madonna calls Gaga's music "reductive"

Image
Madonna does not have much good to say about Lady Gaga I remember Madonna taking a jab at Gaga earlier last year.  Then Madonna’s PR people came out said that she wasn’t talking badly about Gaga.  I called it BS, because they didn’t want the backlash from the Gaga fans.  For years, many of Gaga’s critics have stated that Gaga is just a remix version of Madonna. This all came to a head when Gaga released “Born This Way”, and it had an uncanny similarity to “Express Yourself”.    Now, Madonna has really leaned into Gaga. From NBC Chicago, (( “ I certainly think she references me a lot in her work. And sometimes I think it’s amusing and flattering and well done,” Madonna told ABC News’ 20/20 in an interview aired Friday night. http://www.nbcchicago.com/entertainment/music/Madonna-Lady-Gagas-Born-This-Way-is-Reductive-137348988.html#ixzz1jT3FuERO )) Ouch.  Please note the “sometimes I think” in the statement.  Madonna uses her words ...

Trespass

Image
Trespass Trespass isn’t a bad film overall, but I can see why this Joel Schumacher film didn’t receive a wide release in North America.  The film has some strange characteristics that do not fit with rest of the movie, such as flashbacks. The movie is about a diamond dealer that finds him and his family thrown into a tense situation due to a brutal home invasion.  Somewhere, there is a good hostage/heist movie trying to claw its way out.  Some poor decisions force this simple premise into corny and foolish territory The biggest problem with the movie is the decision to put Nicolas Cage  into the leading role.  Cage has been both box office and critic poison for many years now.  Putting him into your movie is guaranteed to harm the movie.  Cage does his usual shouting and grunting that has made him famous.  While Schumacher has toned down Cage’s outrageous mannerisms, Cage’s overacting does bring you out of the movie sometimes. ...

Vintage Pepsi machine.

Image
I was rolling through school in one of the buildings when I saw Anakin Skywalker staring back at me in those pod racing glasses.   I realized it was a Pepsi Vending Machine with the old Star Wars Episode 1 cover from 1999.   It has sat in this building from 1999 to this time and no one from Pepsi has changed it in that time.    This is what it looks like.  I got a good chuckle out of it and I can’t take my eyes off of it every time I enter the building.   It seems there are a few of these old 1999 covers still left around the US and Canada.   This was around the time when SW merchandising was overflowing to the point that was some backlash .    I remember some of my friends collecting these cans, that now aren't worth much.
