Joaquin Phoenix is really taking this stunt to its fullest conclusion David Letterman has some great moments here with the Fake Acting Phoenix. It’s fake, but still funny. Letterman sets him up to make some awkward answers, and that's why Letterman is the best. He supposedly doesn't even know what the clip is or anything about the movie. It's all BS, but I'll give him credit for this 'act'. This is better than Reality TV.

Taken Liam Neeson kills, beats and tortures a lot of people in this action film. Like many other reviewers, this movie feels like a theatrical version of the show 24 . Taken is a decent action drama that has more going for it than against it. For the most part, the plot is simple to follow. A ‘teenage’ girl, whose father is a retired agent, is kidnapped in Paris. The father, Neeson, takes it upon himself to find his daughter by any means necessary. The movie has a nice pace to it with some good action scenes. Pierre Morel , the director, does a good job with sometimes seedy locations and people involved with the kidnapping. For a PG-13 movie, the violence is pretty intense and the story is surprising forthright about the sex trade plot. The story, written by Luc Besson , isn’t the best or original. I like how Ashlee Simpson has come out of her has-been haze and decided to defend her sister. I’m all for defending your own blood, but when it comes to the female image, Ashlee doesn’t have much room to talk. If you look at her picture, she had some major work done to her body. And what happened to her nose? What happened to keeping it real, Ashlee? Is this the right message to send to little girls? Analyzing the John Locke Theme from the LOST Score Michael Giacchino is a wonderful composer that knows how to make grand scores with simple themes. As I’ve said before, Mr. Giacchino is like a younger version of John Williams. Like Williams, he uses the Humming test. Basically, the humming test is when you make the theme simple enough, but memorable, that anyone can hum theme. The Lost score has a few of them. The John Locke theme is simple. It is three notes that are slowly played through a few times in low tones. I do like how the theme isn’t really that heroic but dark and mysterious. Actually, John Locke has two musical themes. One for his adventures off the island and in a wheelchair and the dark one that I’m talking about here where is on the island. The Happening Shyamalan, you screwed up big time. Killer wind/plants, really? Was this supposed to be funny? If so, how funny is a big budgeted snuff-movie supposed to be? Before I rip into this movie, there are many intense moments in the story. Some moments are executed extremely well. The opening in Central Park and the construction site are down right horrifying. When it comes to displaying some uneasy scenes, Shyamalan has some skills in that department. It’s just too bad he can’t seem to direct his actors or write better dialogue. Let’s start with the acting first. Marky-Mark Wahlberg’s performance is so atrocious that I laughed out loud at some of his line deliveries. Because Shyamalan likes to overuse close-ups in his scenes, we get good number of scenes with Marky-Mark staring into the screen with the dumbest expressions, all this with Shyamalan shoving the camera up his nose. And, pretty much the rest of the cast follows Marky-Mark’s lead. ...
