Random Things

Image
BTW, CQC is back for MGS4. Random Things ~ Angry Videogame Nerd takes on the Star Trek games : Hey, I was looking forward this. Star Trek The Motion Picture: The videogame for this one has more action than the actual movie. And, I do recall playing the Star Trek game on the NES, as well as the TNG. ~ R-Kelly is free, for now : Who knew that Boondocks episode would be right on the money? They used the “Little Man” defense and it worked. Remember these clips here and here . I hate R-Kelly. The man needs to stop peeing on people. ~Sure Spike Lee has been a prick lately, but this new trailer for his movie Miracle at St. Anna has me intrigued. I love that the trailer presents a mystery and never answers it. I might just check this one out in the theaters. ~I played MGS4 over a friend’s house for about five to six hours. Yes, the game is freaking great. Forget the graphics, which are wonderful, it’s the other stuff in the game that makes it such a kick ass game. ...

Sneakernight: Vanessa Hudgens (Review)

Sneakernight: Vanessa Hudgens (Review) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRqOjhNN4hQ You know what, I like this song. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with Ms. Hudgens’ nude pictures being released on the Internet. But, I do think she’s a lovely girl (she’s 19) and she has a cute smile. There’s something nice about seeing a girl not falling apart and running over people with her car. I have never seen any of those stupid High School Musical movies, so I only have this song to go on. I have to say I’m impressed with her singing voice there a bit of soul in there. Who knew you could make an entire song about damn sneakers? The song has enough of a hip-hop vibe that it doesn’t fall under the shit Britney Spears craps out. While the video is clichéd, the song isn’t bad at all and has a nice pace to it. ~For some reason she’s wearing Justin Timberlake’s hat. Did she punch Timberlake in the face and steal his hat? ~Vanessa and her friend’s shoelaces seem t...

How to take care of a baby…and how not to take care of one

How to take care of a baby…and how not to take care of one http://www.ammaro.com/2008/06/how-tonot-to-take-care-of-your-baby.html I have couple of friends that had a baby a year ago, so I’ve watched the child grow up. Hell, he walks now, and I can still remember me holding him in my arms. ( Yes, that picture of me holding the baby is still floating around the Internet somewhere. I don't know where it is though.) I'm not a baby person, but the baby laughs at me, so he’s okay. Anyway, check out the picture in the link above for a good laugh. I personally will have my baby learning chess sooner than later. I know for a fact I would have been doing some of the things in the picture, if I hadn't read it.

The Happening is not happening

Image
Woman: "Who do you see?" Marky-Mark: “Damn it, Tim Burton followed me all the way here to ask me to join Planet of the Apes II: This Time we get it right .” ______________________________________________ The Happening is not happening After Lady in the Swimming Pool , the critics are out for blood this time around. M. Night Shyamalan 's new movie isn't receiving that many positive reviews for his latest movie. Listen, the movie is probably a turd, but it just feels like the critics are going out of their way to bash Shyamalan. I like bashing the guy myself, but this is going overboard. Just read some of the reviews, they're more about the director than the actual movie. (I'm guilty of this too, I just don't think MNS deserves all this bashing though. Certain directors deserve it like Ratner and Boll.) There seem to be some directors that really bring the venom out of the critics, while others get ignored. MNS and the Wachowski brothers are...

Reading Rainbow

Image
Do you remember watching Reading Rainbow ? Ever since the throwback posts over at Mayren's blog in which she discusses the various old kid's shows from the 80's and 90's, I've been looking back at some of the shows I enjoyed too. I was going through YouTube and came across Reading Rainbow for some reason. I remember watching RR way back when I was a little kid. It was one of those shows that promoted education and reading. I never realized how much of an impact this show has had on my life. Maybe this younger generation could learn something from reading a book instead of spending every waking moment on X-Box Live talking shit to each other. Anyhow, you can't go wrong with LeVar Burton at the helm of the show (That crazy Geordi La Forge ). Here are a few videos to 'help build the memory'. ~ Another Take at the Reading Rainbow theme : Some guys decided to sing the theme song. ~ Kermit the Frog visits Reading Rainbow : I laughed at t...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (trailer)

Image
Anakin: “I have a bad feeling about this?” Ahsoka Tano: “About what?” Anakin: “I feel Lucas is going to add an annoying Ewok song to the end credits.” Ahsoka: "Oh, shit." __________________________________________ New trailer for Star Wars Clones Wars After watching this newer trailer, I have to say that I am actually looking forward to this movie now. Sure the character designs are a little bit unconventional, but something about this trailer is appealing. I should also note that Lucas is credited for the story, but three other people are credited with the screenplay , which I hope means a better script. There are two things that I am apprehensive about this movie still. I still don't think Lucas will keep his hands off the creative process of the animated movie and series. He's ego is too big for that. John Williams isn't doing the score for this movie, and I am guessing the series as well. It's some guy named Kevin Kiner . Wi...

Pork and Beans: Roll that Beautiful bean footage

Pork and Beans (That music video with all those YouTube folk) Weezer has this new song out, which is pretty good, but the video is actually even better. Somehow, these guys have rounded up some Internet celebrities and brought them all into this video. While I enjoyed seeing most of them, I could have done without Chris Crocker. Can the world open up and swallow him? Well, I wanted to direct you to this blog that details everyone that shows up in the video . The list is extensive. Now, are these the same girls from the Daft Bodies video or are they just look-a-likes? I looked everywhere to discover their identities, but I've come up dry. I'm certain they're either college cheerleaders or members of a dance team. They have that type of body. I also wasn't aware that there was another video like this by the Barenaked Ladies as well .

Wieners (2008)

Image
Wieners http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800268/ I was reading F ilmJunk , came across this movie, and was shocked I heard nothing about it. I mean I knew about The Hottie and the Nottie Why does the cover look like Good Burger II? Is there a connection to Good Burger? Any movie that stars Kenan Thompson, Jenny McCarthy , and Andy Milonakis automatically smells like a piece of crap. Here’s the compelling plot of Wieners… A road trip comedy about three friends who travel across the country in a Wiener Wagon to beat up a popular daytime talk show therapist. H ere's the 'wonderful' trailer ... Holy crap this is going to be bad. Kenan: Remember me, Snakes on the Plane, Good Burger?

Kung Fu Panda

Image
Kung Fu Panda I remember watching a promotion piece for this movie earlier this year and found myself not too pleased with it. I thought, uh, is this movie going to be like Shark’s Tale? Nope… Actually, the movie is very enjoyable and has a touching, if a little simple, story to it. I found myself pleasantly surprised with the movie, plus there are some laugh-out-loud moments in there too. I had a fun time and that’s all that matters. Kung Fu Panda is about an overweight panda named Po who works as a noodle waiter at a restaurant in China, but Po dreams of being the best Kung Fu fighter in the land. Through some accident involving fireworks Po is picked to become the Dragon warrior. For a CGI animated Dreamworks movie, the visual are stunning. While not up to Pixar standards, but it is pretty damn close. It would seem the artists and background artists really wanted to compete with Pixar this time around. For some reason, the bright colors and grand music ...
