I was and still am a huge fan of the personality of Lawler. I understand that marrying a hot piece of number like Stacy Lee Carter (The Kat). Kat was hot and she was really big during the height of WWE’s Attitude Era. During this time, she was a sex symbol and even showed her boobs at one point during a PPV event. It made the headlines. Then, Kat sort of got shifted away from storylines. The WWE fired Kat and that lead to some major drama.
Lawler found out that they fired his wife, so Lawler left WWE afterward in protest. Okay, that is fine because it is your wife. While they knew each other for a while, with it being an affair, they got married in 2000. What sucks is Lawler stuck up for his wife and they separated and later divorced. The situation is bad on all angles.
For me, marrying someone in the same company as you is bad all around. Plus, I never understand the appeal of dating a co-worker either. It is just not going to be good for you.
While it was right for Lawler to stand up for his wife, he probably regrets it after she divorced from him. Looking back in hindsight, it was a mistake. Yet, the WWE is a shitty company too.
Side Note: It looks like the Kat left wrestling business behind and is a full-time real estate agent in Texas. Good for her.
