See, what I've begun doing is if someone gets all bent out of shape about Happy Holidays, I ask them if New Year's Day is a holiday... because what I am saying is happy whatever holiday you celebrate + New Year's. They shut up pretty fast after that.
I need to use that too. I've noticed people seem to throw out the Marry Christmas as if it is a political statement. It feels like they're trying to let it be know what they stand for. When it really doesnt matter if it is Holiday Day or Xmass
I read about some dude who went apeshit at the Illinois capitol the other day because there was an atheist sign near the Christmas tree in the lobby and he tried to remove it.
But somehow the fact that their was a Festivus pole down there too didn't bother him (it was mentioned in the very last paragraph of the story).
Anon: I have no idea what you're talking about. What list? I get the feeling this comment was supposed to be a spam thing, but it didnt turn out that way.
MC: Just read one of the news items on this story. My biggest problem with these activists types is "Wouldn't they feel the same way if an atheist ripped a religious sign from a capital building?" What gives these people the right to remove a sign? And, wouldn't they cry foul if someone did it to them?
