Reading Rainbow

Do you remember watching Reading Rainbow?

Ever since the throwback posts over at Mayren's blog in which she discusses the various old kid's shows from the 80's and 90's, I've been looking back at some of the shows I enjoyed too. I was going through YouTube and came across Reading Rainbow for some reason.

I remember watching RR way back when I was a little kid. It was one of those shows that promoted education and reading. I never realized how much of an impact this show has had on my life.

Maybe this younger generation could learn something from reading a book instead of spending every waking moment on X-Box Live talking shit to each other.

Anyhow, you can't go wrong with LeVar Burton at the helm of the show (That crazy Geordi La Forge ).

~LeVar dances and raps in this clip: He does a good job dancing too, but you have to remember he was a dancer/actor in the Cameo song 'Word Up'.

People our age grew up with shows like Reading Rainbow, and not to sound like an old guy, but all kids get these days are XBox and Spongebob. There is just no value in that.

Yeah, there was some education element to our young childhood experiences. Now, we have kids watching talking Sponges and hours playing Halo 3

Shannon Fill:   Where is she now? SF has been reviewing TNG seasons o ver at his blog. And, the episode Lower Decks came up. I recently watched Lower Decks on Net-flicks and found myself amazed with the performance from the young and lovely Shannon Fill , who played the character Ensign Sito Jaxa. Madison Swan/Mia Malkova: Not so Mother's Day

I’ve written about some messed up things in my time as a blogger, but this story might just top the cake.  And, I mean really.  If you are offended by porn and the porn industry, don’t read this blog.  However, this might be one of the strangest and creepiest things I’ve seen and read about.  It just seems so wrong... Bernie Mac is Dead A bit of upsetting news... ((CHICAGO (AP) — Bernie Mac, the actor and comedian who teamed up in the casino heist caper "Ocean's Eleven" and gained a prestigious Peabody Award for his sitcom "The Bernie Mac Show," died Saturday at age 50. )) I remember watching him on Def Comedy Jam , where he really broke out. If you get a chance, check out some of his earlier work on that show. I think he was able to really shine in some of the roles he took in his movie career.
