Drummer version of Corridors of Time

Drummer version of Corridors of Time
I wanted to share this on the blog, because I mentioned that Corridors of Time is one of my favorite tracks from Chrono Trigger. Here are some other covers I haven't posted before.

Tekken 7: Lucky Chloe

Tekken 7: Lucky Chloe
Yes, this sort of character caused an uproar in the Tekken and Video Game community recently. Not too surprisingly, this cute anime-ish character is causing some outcry.
From YouTube Comments, ((Mobarak AlShamsi: I feel you man! How could those monsters include a character that you have a choice not to play as! ))
Thank you. Are people so butthurt over Tekken taking the piss out of those fans that dress up in Japanese animated characters and being cute all the time? Or are people considering this game to be sexist? I'm not sure yet. Please tell me people don't have a problem with her “sexy” outfit given the Dead or Alive series is far-far worst.
Allegedly, one of the programers has tweeted that North America will not have the “honor” of getting Lucky Chloe. Instead, we'll be getting ((He described the typical Western character as a "well-muscled, skin-head [with a] very powerful attack... ))
Yep, that's what I want; an all dude game with all dudes. (sarcasm) Actually, two of my favorite characters from Tekken are female.
People are saying he's just trolling people.
I hate Jar-Jar, so I just avoided those episodes of The Clone Wars that featured him. I'd do the same thing if I played Tekken 7. I know people are making the claim that “she doesn't add anything to the Tekken franchise”. Uh, half the characters in Tekken are strange or cute things.
Now, if you want to talk about useless. Capcom purposely put a character so bad and under powered in their SF games all the time. And, people try to beat the game with this useless character all the time. He also happens to look like Steven Seagal.

Beyonce: 7/11

Beyonce: 7/11
I don't think she talking about those convenient stores that sell you 40oz beers and lottery tickets. Or, maybe she is...
Okay, the song is total shit. I mean it is robotic clapping shit that Beyonce is way above because she actually knows how to sing. And, this is just catering to the crowds that like this shitty version of hip. Why are people in this form auto-tuning, which really distorts the voices of the singers? How did this get popular?
It is just another song that gives you instructions into how to dance. Thanks, but no thanks, Beyonce. It just repeats over and over again.
Now, the video is actually not that bad. It probably has to do with Beyonce shaking her well-formed booty and seeing the other dancers bounce around in their underwear. Is the video “sexist”? I don't care, I like it.
Is this what good-looking women do when they have a sleepover?

Guy gets “knocked the f' out”

Guy gets “knocked the f' out”
Actually, the guy that did the knock out appears to have done one of those wrestling punches. You know, the open hand arm attack.
The part that really shocks me is the friend of the knocked out dude just walks away from his friend. What a way to look out for your bro, dude. I also like that one woman comes into frame and looks, “Yep, he's knocked out.”
You don't have to fight the other guy, but at least make an attempt to help the guy on the floor.
The guy knocked out is in really bad shape. From Local 10.com, ((Hussein was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he remains in a coma. Police said he suffered bleeding to his brain. ))
Yes, the man is in a coma. WTF?
This of course happened in Florida.

Sony Leaks: Someone doesn't like Adam Sandler that much..

Sony Leaks: Someone doesn't like Adam Sandler that much...

Sandler might be the George Lucas of comedy. Meaning he's lost his touch, but still makes movies.
I didn't want to link to Gawker, but damn they have some highlights from some of the leaked memos from Sony's hack (I am not sure why they're not in trouble with Sony over printing the links, but anyway...)
It seems Sony is very upset with its contract with Sandler's company. And, it's not really making much money from his movies, plus all the strange demands put on the studio. I also should note that through their Marvel deal with Spiderman, they don't see any profits from merchandising.
I'll probably get a takedown notice while Gawker stays clean.
From Gawker, ((Need to improve the creative staff in Motion Pictures. Seems like we just reboot old product instead of coming up with new ideas like the Hunger Games. We need new fresh ideas that can drive franchise product. Go out and hire the best. ))
This makes sense, plus their Spiderman reboot isn't working as well as they thought. It might be time to either link up with Marvel's movies and share or release their hold on the character. Spiderman works better when he's part of a bigger universe.
From Gawker, ((Be more focussed and ruthless in directing our resources to businesses that will sustain the long term health of SPE - networks, broadcast TV shows, new movie franchises, digital distibution By the same token, stop or reduce support for areas that have no more value (Sandler movies, DVD) ))
This might be a noting Disney's success with their newly bought brands.
Then there's the Sandler jabs...
((we continue to be saddled with the mundane, formulaic Adam Sandler films. Let's raise the bar a little on the films we produce, and inspire employees that they are working on the next Social Network. ))
Very funny. Even they know that Sandler's films are lazy and formulaic now. At this point, Sandler does nothing but shit and demands to film in tropical locations so he can hang out with his friends. Plus, you throw in sports people that movie people cameos and loaded product placements. (Popeye's Chicken is actually a plot point in Little Nicky)
((but then upper management allows certain talent and filmmakers to bleed us dry with their outlandish requests for private jets, wardrobe and grooming stylists - and are surprised when they are asked to work more than 5 hours to promote their film. ))
Gee, I wonder who they're talking about?
((yet we only release a dozen or so Columbia Pictures a year, for example. And will we still be paying for Adam Sandler? Why? ))
Nice. This puts a smile on my face. When is Hollywood going to stop making his movies? And, why are they always over budget? These are supposed to be comedies, which usually means they don't cost that much to make. Something doesn't add up here. And, I am glad Sony is finally realizing this.
((However, the studio needs to change deal structure that has been in place with Happy Madison, as this arrangement has disproportionately benefitted Adam Sandler and his team, relative to SPE. ))
I'm guessing Sony is taking much of the risk and Sandler is making most of the money. Get out of this deal with Sandler people. This needs to stop.
((Have you read the SEC annual report? Disney will make $300M on Spidey merchandise this year alone. We won't! ))
And, this is other side of that deal with Marvel. Spiderman can still be merchandised and marketed outside the movies. Thanks to video games and Marvel action figures. The Spidey movies act as free ads for Marvels comic book based versions of Spidey. They might not have a say in the movies,

Samurai Cop 2: I guess we're getting another one

Samurai Cop 2: I guess we're getting another one
I wasn't sure there was enough people out there to make it a crowd funding thing, but here it is. It met his goal and more in the kickstarter fundraiser. The first Samurai Cop movie was a “cult” hit and a notoriously bad movie. The reason I even discovered they were doing another Samurai Cop movie was because I was rolling around Lexi Belle's Twitter Page and came across a crew photo. (What was I doing on Belle's Twitter page? Research?) My first thought was, “Wait, they're making another one?”
The first movie was infamous for being a bad movie...a really bad movie.
The Shaq Fu and Samurai Cop 2 kickstarters just go to show that you can put anything up for crowd funding. I am not knocking it, but fascinated by crowd funding. Shit can get funded.
The follow up movie has a bunch of pornstars and character actors from the b-movies from the 90s...plus, Tommy Wiseau . Yes THAT Tommy. The best part is they literally found and dug up Mark Frazer, the SC's jive talking black partner, and had him reprise his role. Keep in mind, Frazer pretty much closed shop after SC1 and did one episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman before SC2.

Fourth of July Interpretive Dance

Fourth of July Interpretive Dance
Interpretive Dance, yep the founders really envision this tribute. I actually like this strange little kid. I hate Interpretive Dance, but it is so strange and goofy that comes around to being good (in a bad way).
This is basically a mixture of The Room and that CathyMay15 girl. Now, I tried looking for more information on this bumpityboo guy, but it seems this little guy has disappeared from the Internet.

Newsroom latest episode (thoughts)

Newsroom latest episode (thoughts)
I have a love/hate relationship with this show. There are times when the show works brilliantly like the second and thirds season, but also is a little shaky like the first season. I think Aaron Sorkin's disdain for the Internet and Internet culture is being laid on a bit thick, but I also understand his hatred of sites like Gawker Media. He's done a better job conveying his political views in a narrative this season than the first season. I think the show has done a good job giving us a discussion of what journalism, journalism activism and ethics. These are things we are discussing right now in the media, clearly he foreseen much of this.
This has been a good season overall. This is also the last season.
-Sam Waterston played his scenes extremely well: If you go back and notice, Waterston's character looks tired and worn down in every scene. However, Charlie Skinner was on edge the entire episode.
-Charlie Skinner's death: Yep, that was a sad moment. I always liked this character the most. Plus, it gets sadder when you know that Will wasn't there for his friend's death.
-Discussion of rape: It is a heated subject, but the episode did a good job with the subject.
-Olivia Munn scene: Yes, Aaron, we know you hate Gawker, but I think you laid it on a bit too thick. Yes, that app was real, and the argument was sound, but it came across a bit too preachy.
-Jim and Maggie relationship shit: This has always been the weaker part of the show. Why are these silly relationship subplots always shoehorned into TV shows?

Robert Orci off Star Trek III as Director

Robert Orci off Star Trek III as Director
Kirk:  "I sense a great disturbance in the force.  It is like a great evil thing has just been dismissed."
From Huffington Post, ((Orci will no longer be directing the upcoming third installment in Paramount's "Star Trek" series, according to Deadline, but he will be staying on as a producer. Orci's reps confirmed to HuffPost Entertainment that he's not directing, while Paramount had no comment.))
I didn't hate Orci like the other Trek fanboys and I didn't really hate him when he had that Kevin Smith-like rant against his detractors. However, knowing that he is off the gig of being director of the next Trek film is okay in my book.
I thought it was extremely poor judgment on Paramount's part to even hire an untested director on their still growing franchise. I'm sorry, but you can't follow JJ with an untested director. Okay, it worked sort of with Nicholas Meyer, but he already had Time After Time under his belt. And, even Star Trek II was filmed on a lean and mean budget after the over budgeted first movie. However, sci-fi movies have a lot of FX and other factors going into making them today. (Sorry, you can't used Frakes or Nimoy against my argument ether, they worked on TV)
This was really troubling me about the Trek franchise when the studio announced the Orci.
Why would Paramount do such a thing? It just seemed self-sabotaging on their part.
Well, it looks like someone came to their senses and either booted Orci or he left.
At this point, you need a director with a strong vision and someone that is willing to take up for that vision too. I heard Edgar Wright might be the one to replace him. Here's hoping so. Wright knows comedy and filing with heavy special effects. Plus, I think his vision would fight right in with JJ's first two movies. Plus, he's a fanboy.
Make this happen, Paramount.
And, because I like Alice Eve, here's that famous underwear shot.

Too Many Cooks for Cello (loop)

Too Many Cooks for Cello (loop)
This actually works extremely well. Just when I thought I got this song out of my head, here come this cover. Damn you.

Suicide Squad movie cast

Suicide Squad movie cast

I read about the list of cast for the new DC Comics movie Suicide Squad. I've been very critical of DC's choices in the past, but they sort of got it right for this upcoming movie it seems. The Squad is comprised of DC's bad ass villains working together. The government forces them into missions that they deem expendable.
Here they are.

Taylor Rain selling houses

Taylor Rain is a realtor? Really?
Her name is now Nicole Price (like Vince Offer). She trained in her thong for a realtor card I guess. From what I read, she cleaned up her act and I guess got into realtor market. She seems to really be into this gig too.
For me, I can't get over her previous line of work though.
I always got her confused with another pornstar Jenna Haze.
Taylor was notorious for her hardcore movies (especially anal), but she was also known as being openly against interracial scenes. (When as Jenna Haze started doing interracial scenes). Hey, she was open to just about anything but banging a black guy in normal scenes. (WTF?)
Truth be told, she looks really good today.
I'm all for people getting their lives back on track, but the past will always be there on the Internet. (Except for Scientology things)

A Black Stormtrooper? So What?

A Black Stormtrooper? So What?
There seems to be some ignorant people out there complaining and making jokes about John Boyega being black. Is there really a problem with his skin color being a factor when there are aliens with numerous colors and backgrounds?
From Salon.com, ((Stormtroopers, some fans are arguing, are clones of a white bounty hunger Jango Fett. Of course, others are pointing out that eventually the ranks of stormtroopers were made up of recruits rather than clones ))
Uh, even Lucas has come out and stated that Stormtroopers and Clone Troopers are different things. The ST're are enlisted men from the academy. Clones more or less have died out with only a few in the ranks. I just don't understand why there is a problem? It is not like they're forcing the race thing down our throats and making it a preachy point in the story.
It is just a guy that happens to be black. So, what? I won't have a problem with him if he were gay as long as it is part of his character. The story comes first and the message should come organically to the story. The characters races or sex shouldn't be the Star Wars story. (BTW, the woman and black man will be the main characters.)
How do you make Sci-fi inclusive?  By making the hero black or female and NOT making a point about it in the story.  Yes, this hero is black or female, but I am going to write as the story sees fit.
Boyega took the attacks head on with a statement. ((“Thank you for all the love and support! The fan mail and fan art has added to my joy! Isn’t it crazy that Star Wars is actually happening? I’m in the movie but as a star wars fan I am very excited! A year is a long time but it will be worth the wait.
To whom it may concern…
Get used to it. :)”
))
Well, said and not too preachy. And, now we drop it right?
