Tomb Raider 2 Xbox exclusive
Angry Joe pretty much sums up the decision to make it make Rise of the Tomb Raider Microsoft exclusive.
It is a bad decision, but Microsoft needs to sell consoles. And, Sony is kicking their ass. However, producing it on all platforms makes sure the sells go through the roof. Look at GTA5. And, MS threw a lot of money to Square Enix.

Microsoft admitted it was a timed exclusive, but didn't specify the end date:

that's good to hear. I'd love to know how much MS shelled out to get it for that period of time.

We know that Sony and the Big N don't have that type of money to throw around.

Shannon Fill:   Where is she now? SF has been reviewing TNG seasons o ver at his blog. And, the episode Lower Decks came up. Sega Saturn Netlink (One of the first official online consoles) Do you remember the Sega Saturn's online functions? Before 13 year old zit-faced boys talked smack to you on the Xbox Live, there was The Sega Netlink. Part 2 and Part 3 Wiki page . While going through the great post on the Sega Saturn at Eidolon's Inn , I came across the information that there was a network link up to the Sega Saturn. It should be noted that there was an near-online option to the Sega Genesis through the Sega Channel. However, the Saturn had big plans for network gaming at the time. The technology simply wasn't there for all their plans, because the speed was 28.8 k. The Saturn never lived up to its fullest potential because of sluggish sells.
