Robocop remake in trouble? This isn't a good way to start your movie when your director is saying there is trouble on the project. From Digital Spy, (( "I talked to José Padilha by phone. No Swag Today, someone at work told me that a girl that I used to work there said this about me.  “James just doesn’t have any swag.” I laughed a great deal about this revelation.  First, I had no idea I lacked any type “swag” to begin with.  Second, I didn’t know I needed this “swag”.  Third, I have no idea what the hell is swag.  I kind of lump swag with Dub Step and YOLO meaning I am too old for this shit.  It used to be a time when you would know what the hell people meant when they were talking about you.  I lump the people that have swag with the same fart-knockers that like Dub Step.  Since I have no idea what swag means, I looked it up on the Urban Dictionary. Random Things ~Final Fantasy XIV: I am really considering getting into the MMO game FFXVI. This is because the game is about to get a major reboot under the name A Realm Reborn. The whole world will be completely changed with cities and areas changing after the reboot. I still need to get PS3 to play it. The red moon in the picture below is supposedly going to crash into the world before the reboot. It is a nice touch that the moon changed colors and size early on and no one noticed at first . Starfleet Skant Did you know that early on in Star Trek TNG days, men wore skirts too ? Nope, I am not making this up. They made it a point to show that men could wear the skirt version of the uniform too. I guess this was being progressive in Gene's eyes. During the time, it just came off as being stupid. I didn't even like the women wearing them in the age of the late 80s. It just seemed to be too much of a throwback to the 60's TOS show. And, I get what they were going for. In the 24 th century, we won't be hung up on things like gender issues in clothing.  And it turned the whole having women in short skirts on the old show on its head.  Now, men can wear them too! Laid Back: White Horse Wasn't this song featured on one of the GTA games? I remember listening to this song way back in the 80s. Most people have totally forgotten about this strange song, but I've heard it before recently. Looking at the wiki, it says this is a synth-pop group called Laid Back. I didn't understand that the song was about cocaine until someone told me.  Imagine my shock as a little kid.  Here are some of the strange lyrics. Real Steel Wow, this is probably the best Robot Fighting I’ve seen…ever.  Do you remember Robot Jox?  Well, this one is way better. It is very corny and silly, but there is something nice about this father and son movie with robots.  It doesn't go too far with the idea.  The basic premise is an updated version of the movie Over the Top .  It is about a man that hooks up with his estranged son and bonds with him over robot competitions.  So, it is a remake of sorts of Over the Top .  They even have them traveling via a semi truck!  There is even a lot of Rocky in the movie too.  It is true that this is rock “em sock em robots” the movie, but that’s okay.  I liked the bonding between father and son.  And, the CGI is pretty good and much better than the robots in the second Transformers movie.  It isn’t a great movie, but it is a fine movie for what it is. I like how this cop handles these Open Carry Activists.  This cop puts this guy in his place by being nice and professional Surfing the Net, I’ve notice a few of the videos of gun owners walking around the public with their ‘right to carry’ guns.  This usually freaks someone out and they call the cops.  The ‘right to carry’ guys film the confrontation with the cops, hoping to get a bad reaction from the cops.  And, they do this on purpose.   These guys want a terrible response from the cops so they can post it on the Internet and get the gun rights people up in arms about their “injustice”.  I call it a waste of time for the cops.  I actually support gun rights, because you have to right to protect yourself.  But, why freak people out with guns that look like automatic weapons? Tony Scott RIP I was shocked when I got the news of director Tony Scott committing suicide.  And, I was even more shocked in the manner he committed suicide (by jumping off a bridge).  Tony Scott is the younger brother director Ridley Scott.  After his death, I’ve realized how many of his movies I have enjoyed over the years. Beverly Hills Cop II : Scott Made this movie a little bit too serious with more action elements. You Shit on My House! Kevin Smith mention this on a podcast and I fondly remembered this scene below. Truer words have never been spoken. Someone give this guy an award or something. Blade Trinity Yes, this is a terrible movie. I found it funny that the producer/writer of the trilogy David S. Goyer wrote the stories for the other movies. But he took it upon himself to direct this movie. It is an utter mess and can't even hold a candle to the first two films. The movie turned out to be a hit, if modest. But, they never bothered to make other movies. -Yes, Wesley Snipes didn't get along with the crew or the other actors in his scenes. He felt they were replacing him for potential sequels. He made it be known that he hated working with Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds . -Reynolds and Biel's characters were poorly written and downright lame compared to Blade. New Radicals: You Get What You Give Another guy crying into a microphone. We are in the 90s with this song. All joking aside, this is a very cool and fun song. Given some of the shit to come out of the 90s, this song was breath of fresh air. It is an easy going song with the exception of a certain portion at the end. Given the state of music today, I'll take this stuff over most of the techno/auto-tune crap.  Calling a movie Sparkle will remind people of Glitter… Yes, this movie is Whitney Houston’s last movie.  But, why call a “singer” movie Sparkle when people still remember the horrible singer movie Glitter?  It doesn't matter what I think, because the movie was made on the cheep with a 14 million dollar budget. So, they will muster a hit out of the box office. Right now, Rotten Tomatoes is rating it around 55%, which is pretty high.

ALF:  In a theater near you… From Hollywood Reporter: ((Sony Pictures Animation has closed a deal to acquire rights to the classic 1980s sitcom  ALF and will develop the property into a hybrid CG/live action feature. )) That's correct they're making a new ALF movie with a CGI model of the hit show ALF. Did anyone ask for one? I am not sure. ALF was so popular that it had a sitcom; two cartoon shows and a video game! (And, there was a TV movie years later that tied up loose ends from the show.) But, have you watched the show recently?  It hasn’t aged well.  To put it simply, it is pretty bad.  Heck, not even the actors from the show liked doing ALF.  I mean the show wasn’t that funny looking back at it.  I actually liked this theme song over the live action one.  And, Paul Fusco, the voice and puppet guy for ALF, will reprise his role.  It gets worst. I was watching a video on YouTube, and I noticed this ad link on the right hand side.   It says Jamie Chung Fan? And, it links directly to the Premium Rush trailer.  I just finished writing that post about Premium Rush yesterday and professing my attraction to Jamie Chung.  Did Google notice this and tailor an ad for me? 

Cheerios protest + Fire=Fail That's an amazing protesting you have there, guy. I like that he's protesting the gay community with a pink shirt on. I sense he's hiding something, because you protest too much.   I guess Honey Nut Cheerios is very flammable. We're getting a little too extreme with our views now. How does burning Cheerios in front of the parent company even support anti-gay rights?  Why does it remind of book burning?  And, he had to buy the box at a store, which put money in the pocket of the company you're protesting.   Someone finally discovered the identity of this fool and placed it on the Internet . Mr. Leisner has lost his job at Greater Midwest because of this incident . I personally don't think he should have lost his job because now he can be made into a spokesman for the far right. People will rally around him instead of letting his 15 minutes fade.  

Premium Rush Trailer...again Wasn't this supposed to come out last year? This was film way back in 2010. That Goat fella made a remix of the his own “ Somebody That I Used To Know” remixes. I really hate this Goat song a lot, but this remix is a nice tribute to all the damn remakes and remixes out there and this remix is done by that Gotye dude. I think the song is way overexposed, despite the fact it isn't a terrible song. I just remember hearing this song on two different radio channels withing minutes.

Random Stuff ~I nearly got sick after drinking some out of date tea and I almost threw up in my car. Luckily, it didn't happen, but it was bad times. ~I will get on my other two The Dark Knight Rises reviews in due time. I am a busy man. (Don't just stand there. God is a busy.) ~I can't get my DVD players to recognize DVDs anymore. I know it is driver issue, but I've tried everything but paying for the damn programs. I guess I can get a new one for the TV, but my good speakers are linked to my computer. ~Marvel's Movie Rights: You have to love the fact that Marvel still doesn't own the rights to some of its key characters such as Spiderman. Sony owns Spiderman and will continue to own as long as they're developing movies. Spiderman is one of the members of the Avengers in the comic books with Wolverine.
