I was really shocked that The Lorax movie made so much
money.
Yep, it made 70 million dollars. Heck, I fondly remembered the old book years
ago when my mother would read it to me.
I also remembered the somber tone of that ending in the cartoon special
from 72.
What is interesting is how much the book and the
cartoon still stand up in today’s Twitter and Duckface generation. The message of environment conservation is
still important today, given the 70 million opening. It is a blunt message, but I think all of Dr. Seuss’ works handle
their messages very well. Take that Oliver Stone.
Heck, I want a Truffula tree.
