Dean did a preview playthrough of Cuphead two years ago that was
terrible. He couldn't through the tutorial and it was sad. There
seems to be a dismissiveness to his approach to gaming. I wonder if other journos feel the same way. "If the game is NOT teaching or talking down to you, it's trash." Well, Dean
has brought us another masterpiece in the form of Doom Eternal. He
just keeps failing.
You could put a 5
year-old in front of the game and they would do better than Mr. Dean.
Keep in mind that Dean is pretty high up in the gaming journo group. It seems strange that he isn't good at any genre in gaming. I am more of an RPG guy. I am certain his journo buddies will come to his defense and write pieces that claim that Doom is racist of homophobic and that it is
“too hard” to play. Remember, they did this to Cuphead too. Their attacks didn't work and Cuphead was a hit.
From what I can
tell, Dean really is a nice guy. It is his fellow journos that are
a-holes.
