Damn, 2020 is
starting out with a bang.
I
used to be a huge fan of Collider, but around the Last Jedi, things
starting to get strange, The shows
stopped talking to me and shifted. Geeks and Gamers is right
that the shows started becoming trendy and more like the shit we read
on Twitter from blue checkmarks. I would have killed to work on
Collider years ago. Despite the more SJW stance it took, it was news
commentary on movies and TV. Now, the management is going to go for
more parody and movie star focus, which will probably fail. There are too many of those videos channels.
Look, Collider
was going downhill fast, but the thing that happened next was a
little petty and shitty. I am all for people making fun of a
company making wrong decisions and even firing someone. The problem
arises when the boss brags about the firings and even disses the
people that worked for the company via a public tweet. In good
taste, you don't make fun of the people you let go. I can do all the
Learn To Code jokes, but not the boss signing the checks.
What is with
these people and flexing on Twitter? You're a professional. Act like
it, Jack Hind. And “fart jokes”, really?
John Campea first
did a nice video refusing to throw punches at Collider and the
management's new angle. John changed his mind when Hind left that
little snarky tweet online. It should be noted that Campea helped
start the commentary branch of the Collider video. I've never seen
Campea this pissed in a long time.
What is even more
interesting is that all the other movie news sites are very quiet
about the Jack Hind incident. Hmm. And, Jack Hind, the Internet never forgets.
