Mortal Kombat: Rebirth
Holy crap, this is badass. This is total re-imagining of the Mortal Kombat universe. So, what is the story behind this Mortal Kombat: Rebirth?
Director Kevin Tancharoen actually did this short movie/trailer as presentation to the studio to get him the job. While I guess we can forgive him for the Fame remake, he seems prefect for the director on the MK reboot.
It is interesting that they got both Jeri Ryan and Michael Jai White to do this little short film. MJW is prefect for the role of Jax.

I was listening to the Frankly, My Dear podcast and they said revealed that this was made for 7500 dollars.
That's pretty amazing given what we see on screen. I think they could make an pretty good Mortal Kombat movie under 15-20 million.
