Chris Gaines: Garth Brooks’ alter ego
Surprisingly, this song isn’t that bad.
Basically, Country singer Brooks created this fully realized alter ego
that was a completely different singer named Chris Gaines. It was a fictional character that actually
had a full album released under the title Garth
Brooks in.... The Life of Chris Gaines. The character and songs were
supposed to be a preview for a movie based on the Gaines character. The movie
never happened.
I mentioned this fact to a hardcore Garth Brooks fan, and she had no idea
Brooks had this character.
His voice is very good in the style of a RB singer. He has a bit of a
Prince sound with his voice. If he
grows tired of the tight shirts and cowboy hats, he can always switch over to
pop music with his Gaines character.
