Grim Reaper Mandy Patinkin is out from “Criminal Minds”

((Patinkin, 54, asked to be released from his role as FBI profiler Jason Gideon last week, CBS Paramount Network Television and series producer ABC Studios said Monday in a statement.))

I like Patinkin as an actor. Heck, he’s a good actor. He was great in Dead Like Me.

((In a separate statement, Patinkin said his departure was the result of “creative differences” but didn’t elaborate.))

I really hate when these spin-docs use ‘creative differences’ when they should just say, “There was a lot of shouting and punching.” Or, “we hate each other.”

At least he’s not chasing a hurt TMZ guy down the street with his buddies or making some crazy anti-gay remarks over and over again.

Somewhere, Isaiah Washington is thinking, “Finally there’s someone to hate more than me. Thank you, Gary Dourdan.”

Patinkin could always hang out with Washington.

MC: I do too, I heard that the producers made a statement about he not showing up for work. But, I'm sure there's much more to it.

Paul: I had totally forgotten that he was in the Princess Bride. I'd love to see that spin off.

It is starting to emerge that the subject matter which the show deals with may have been part of it(as Patinkin was having trouble letting go of the stuff that was going on with the show.)

Shannon Fill:   Where is she now? SF has been reviewing TNG seasons o ver at his blog. And, the episode Lower Decks came up. I’ve written about some messed up things in my time as a blogger, but this story might just top the cake.  And, I mean really.  If you are offended by porn and the porn industry, don’t read this blog.  However, this might be one of the strangest and creepiest things I’ve seen and read about.  It just seems so wrong... Sega Saturn Netlink (One of the first official online consoles) Do you remember the Sega Saturn's online functions? Before 13 year old zit-faced boys talked smack to you on the Xbox Live, there was The Sega Netlink. Part 2 and Part 3 Wiki page . While going through the great post on the Sega Saturn at Eidolon's Inn , I came across the information that there was a network link up to the Sega Saturn. It should be noted that there was an near-online option to the Sega Genesis through the Sega Channel. However, the Saturn had big plans for network gaming at the time. The technology simply wasn't there for all their plans, because the speed was 28.8 k. The Saturn never lived up to its fullest potential because of sluggish sells. I found this funny, because Sega had a better experience with the Dreamcast and its online function (Phantasy Star Online).
