The Verge and Copy-Strikes a couple of big Tubers. But, Why?
From Notebook Check.com, ((Many YouTube channels popular in the PC enthusiast community, such as Paul’s Hardware and Gamers Nexus, called out Vox Media and The Verge for the copyright claims. The claims were filed against multiple channels, most notably Bitwit and ReviewTechUSA (which have over 1.3 million and 800,000 subscribers, respectively). ))
Even if you are going after people reusing the material, why this video? You took down the original video anyway. It doesn’t hurt anything. This is clearly someone higher up in the company feeling bitter about the ribbing they took for the original video. What makes the copyright strikes even stranger is the videos they struck down were 4-5 months old. By doing these strikes, they brought up something that was basically forgotten about now as the Internet moves onto newer things.
The good news is the videos are back up and the strikes removed.
Remember, Vox/Verge, you take your lumps and move on. I just can’t seem to understand why some of these professionals act like little children with their fee-fees hurt.
