Question of the year
Why is Godzilla (1998) in a Doritos ad? When I saw this ad in the Superman Returns Theater, I basically turned to my friend and said, “What? Didn’t this Godzilla movie suck?”
Why is Doritos promoting their new chips with a crappy CGI remade Godzilla?
Is Dean Devlin (producer of the movie) running out of money?

My guess is Sony agreed to the ad in order to guage the viability of the Godzilla franchise and a possible sequel.
If I rememer correctly Sony spent an absolute fortune to buy the Godzilla franchise. Remember all the hype and teasers they put out in a two year build up to a dismal release?
You're Probably right. It’s kind of funny that the real Godzilla in a later film killed off this version.
And, man did they drop the ball with that hype.
