Heroes: canceled

Image
Heroes goes away? From Stuff.co.nz , ((The axe has fallen on Heroes , the much-loved TV show that was a hit in its first season but suffered declining viewer numbers in more recent years. )) NBC finally does something right they canceled “Heroes”. I remembered when Heroes first started and people were claiming it would be better than Lost. Many fans started dissing Lost claiming Heroes as their savior. After the masterful first season, the show kind of hit a wall creatively. Something was missing. I watched all the DVDs of the first season back to back, but I had no desire to finish season 2. I felt the complete opposite with 24. It seemed that show got better in the second season. I just gave up on Heroes and didn't get to see the supposedly really disastrous third season. I think they've done the right thing and put an expensive series out of its misery. However, it is interesting that a series goes from being the golden child to the redheaded stepchild in j...

Black Eye Peas Imma Be Rocking That Body

Black Eye Peas Imma Be Rocking That Body Todd in the Shadows reviews the Black Eye Peas song “Imma Bee” . I hate this group so much. Someone I know called them “The crappy version the Fugees ”. I'm not sure why the world thinks this group has talent. I actually heard this song on the radio recently and had no idea it was Black Eyed Peas. The music is over ten minutes long. -I have to give Fergie for looking pretty sexy in the space age outfit in the video, but it looks like she gotten a facelift or something. I know this is going to sound mean, but I've always thought Fergie had a 8-9 body, but a 3-point face. It looks like she's gotten so work done. I t look s like she's had many surgeries over the years. -The Transformer robot is very impressive, and it makes me wonder how much money they spent on it. -It turns into a “I wanna rock right now” cover. And the video becomes both a strange Pepsi commercial and Transformers scene. -Both songs are ...

Iron Man 2 (Review Part 2 of 2)

Iron Man 2 (Review Part 2 of 2) The Special Effects This time around the special effects are much improved over some of the shots in the first film. That’s not saying the first film had horrible effects, they were very impressive at the time. ILM did an outstanding job with the new armor of War Machine, giving it a completely different look and feel from Tony’s armor. The fighting is a little bit more frantic than the first film. This is one of IM2’s better aspects. I only had a problem with the placement of heads on CGI models. That is only a minor gripe. The Score This time around John Debney composed the music for IM2. Unlike Ramin Djawadi , the composer for the first movie, Debney’s score sounds more like a super hero score. Djawadi used a great deal of rock guitar in his score, but you only get hints of it in Debney’s score. I believe this score is leaps ahead of the lackluster first score. Jon Favreau has defended the heavy rock tones of the ...

Do you remember Vanity (AKA Denise Katrina Matthews)?

Do you remember Vanity (AKA Denise Katrina Matthews)? While reading a Tales for the Crypt review over at the Agony Booth , I took note of the guest star Vanity. That’s right she called herself Vanity. Remembered how hot she was back in the day. I had a huge crush on her back in the day. I mean this girl was hot. She had the prefect body and a stunning face. Most people will remember this lovely woman from The Last Dragon or Action Jackson . She was also the lead sing in the group Vanity 6. You might remember their hit single “Nasty Girl”. Her last movie was Kiss of Death in 1995. From what I can tell, it wasn’t that good. She made a lot of extremely sexual songs with the group. You would usually see them in revealing underwear in most of their music videos. Well, how does she look today? Check it out . She got into a lot of sex and drugs. So, much so that her drug use caused some serious damage to her body that she's still suffering from. I think t...

Batman XXX: A Porn Parody

Image
Batman XXX: A Porn Parody What the hell? When I think of Batman, I don’t think of pornstars having sex. Okay, I found all the different versions of Batgirl and the Huntress sexy, but still. The trailer is pretty amazing considering they based it on the old 60’s series. They got everything right. It makes me wonder how much the budget was in the end. -Tori Black as Catwoman. I can actually see that more so than Halley Berry. -Lexi Belle as Batgirl: She does look the part. -Evan Stone as the Riddler: He kind of has that Joker look, but he can work as the Riddler too. -Randy Spears as the Joker: What? -Ron Jeremy: He’s probably just playing himself in the movie. To be fair, I really enjoyed the Star Trek one, so this one might be interesting to watch too.

Random Things

Random Things ~I went to Kroger and saw a huge display for Hot Wheels cars. Each one was a dollar each. So, I ended up buying four Hot Wheels cars. If I can find them for around this price, I might start buying Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars again. I'm looking at them right now as I type this. ~Gone is 60 Seconds (remake): Damn, this movie hasn't aged that well. I still like it on a cheese level, but Nicolas Cage is really bad in it. Though, I do like the two cops in the movie. ~ Lost “Across the Sea” : So, we finally see the birth of the Smoke Monster. I really liked the episode, but there are a few flaws. The episode never reveals the name of MIB's name even in the origin story, but it looks like someone at ABC.com Screwed up and gave a way the name in the description of the episode. Esau is the name given. Is this a typo? ~ Beverly Hills Cop III : I watched this review, and it does bring me back to how bad BHCIII really is. It did seem Eddie really didn't ca...

Iron Man 2 (Review Part 1 of 2)

Image
Iron Man 2 (Review Part 1 of 2) Iron Man 2 has some major pacing problems and a slightly limp script that keeps it from reaching the first movie’s height. The movie wasn’t really a letdown, but it was a missed opportunity for the sequel to surpass its first film. And, that’s not to say IM2 isn’t a bad movie, not by a long shot. But, it doesn’t have the same spark as the first movie. Tony Stark is taking in the fame of being known as Iron Man. He goes to parties and behaves like a frat boy. Behind the scenes, Tony Stark is keeping a little secret about his life and the very thing keeping him alive. Meanwhile, a Russian scientist seeks revenge on Tony Stark using the same technology as Stark’s power source. Plus, the US government wants to take control of the Iron Man design. The Writing The snappy dialogue from the first movie isn’t really in this one. The first movie had at least a four writers credited, and someone contributed to that dialogue. IM2 ha...

Big Fan

Image
Big Fan What happens when you finally meet your biggest sports idol, but things don’t go the way you imagined? This is the basis of Big Fan. Patton Oswalt brings it in every scene he’s in. I found his character to be a fine balance between amusing and pathetic. I didn’t think Oswalt would go there, but he did effortlessly. I can’t say enough on how good he really is in the role of this passive man. The movie is really an up-close look in Paul Aufiero (Oswalt) life. He is living a terrible life at home and working in a shitty job as parking booth guard. Because his life is in the dumps, the only thing that brings him pure joy is being a New York Giants fan. He prepares long-winded speeches for sports talk stations and argues with rival fans. Even though he can’t buy tickets, he sits in the stadium parking lot listening to the game. When a chance encounter with a famous NY Giants player (Quantrell Bishop) happens into his lap, Oswalt has an intense inciden...

Taser Boy: Steve Consalvi

Taser Boy: Steve Consalvi Man, I love this picture. It looks like the picture should be on a Sports Illustrated cover or on the front of a box of Wheaties.
