Doing
some research into Mark Waid, a comedian I know from e-mails
had Waid on his podcast. In the podcast, Ken mentions the ending
to a show called I Married Dora. When
the show writers knew they were getting canceled, they literally
threw in an abrupt
ending where they break the fourth wall. The only thing worth
mentioning about the show is that a very young Juliette
Lewis
played the teenage daughter. Was this pre-Xenu or post Xenu Lewis or
was she born into this stupid cult?

received a two-year job offer in Bahrain and
the final scene featured him boarding a plane headed overseas,
leaving Dora and his children behind despite their pleas. A few
moments later, Peter reappeared:

They
actually did something similar for the show Moonlighting. The
characters of that show try to stop the show from being canceled and
eventually fail. They give up and end the show. If you can get your
hands on the Moonlighting ending episode, it is a very good find.
Moonlighting
Ending: The ending of the series happens ten minutes before the show
ends and it completely drops all the storylines and breaks the fourth
